Best NBA Player Prop Bets — Mon., Jan. 17

Jakob Poeltl o20.5 points + rebounds (-110)

PrizePicks: O/U 11.5 points
PrizePicks: O/U 8.5 rebounds

Per EdgHouse, Jakob Poeltl has eclipsed this number in 20-of-35 games played this season and 8-of-10 games played since December 27. Tonight, the Phoenix Suns will be without their starting center and leading rebounder, Deandre Ayton. Since December 27, Poeltl is averaging 20.4 rebound chances per game, which is nearly double the number of his next-closest teammate in that metric. Poeltl sometimes disappears on the offensive end of the floor, but assuming he gets his typical 10 shot attempts, this is a play that has a strong chance to cash.

Trae Young o27.5 points (-110)

PrizePicks: O/U 26.5 points

The Atlanta Hawks have been a mess this season, but Trae Young has remained an elite player in the league. Young is averaging 27.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game this year. In December, Young averaged 30.5 points on 23.7 shot attempts per night. In January, Young is averaging 28.0 points per game. In what should be a quick-paced, high-scoring affair, Young should see plenty of opportunities against a Milwaukee Bucks defense that is challenged without Jrue Holiday on the floor.

Rudy Gobert o14.5 rebounds (+110)

PrizePicks: O/U 14.0 rebounds

Rudy Gobert returned to the floor yesterday after a rather lengthy absence due to COVID-19. Gobert has made a number of comments to the media recently, suggesting that the Utah Jazz are not as committed as they need to be on the defensive end of the floor. In his return to action, Gobert put his money where his mouth has been–securing 19 boards in a winning effort. Tonight, Gobert gets to face a Los Angeles Lakers team that ranks 29th in the NBA in rebounding percentage over their last six games. Expect another strong performance from Gobert.

Rudy Gobert o15.5 rebounds (+110)

PrizePicks: O/U 15.5 points

For similar reasons, we also like Gobert to have a strong night scoring the basketball. The Lakers have been playing better basketball of late, since moving LeBron James to the center position. However, a matchup with a 7’1’’ Gobert certainly tests the limitations of that strategy. There are few members of the Los Angeles roster that are capable of doing much to slow down Gobert in this one. Buy as much stock as you can in the big man, with the two main concerns here being a blowout, and the fact that Gobert is playing on a back-to-back after only recently returning from having COVID-19.
