Top DFS Picks and Fantasy Pick’em Plays for Week 1

Michael Penix Jr.: There is plenty of hype for the Washington Huskies offense this season, and it’s Penix who has the keys to the car. This team is loaded with explosive weapons offensively, and Penix is coming off a 4,600 yard, 31 touchdown passing season a year ago. I expect those numbers to improve even more in 2023, and he is arguably the top quarterback play on the slate.

Bru McCoy: The early weeks will give us some players that are priced wildly different on the various DFS sites. For Week 1, Bru McCoy is your value du jour on the DraftKings slate. While he is priced at a premium on FanDuel, he sits at just $4,800 on DraftKings. He should be the first plug-and-play receiver in your DK lineups this weekend, as he has a clearer path to a big role this season and performed well when he got the opportunity a year ago.

Marvin Harrison Jr.: You are going to have salary available to spend up on a few elite players this week, as there is plenty of value to be found on the slate. Marvin Harrison Jr. could be the best wide receiver in college football, and the Ohio State game might stay just close enough to keep the Buckeyes relevant and throwing for at least three quarters. Harrison could have a big day if that’s the case.
