Daily Fantasy NFL: H2H vs. GPP - Week 5
It’s time for Week 5 of the H2H vs. GPP Plays Column! Let’s get right into it.
Part 1 – 50/50’s and Head-to-Head
When playing 50-50’s/Double-ups or head-to-head, you want guaranteed points. This is not where you roll the dice on all-or-nothing players. The idea is to simply produce a solid, well balanced team. It may not be explosive, but it doesn’t matter whether you finish in first place or not, you just need to cash.

Quarterback
Aaron Rodgers – The Packers offense is ranked 3rd overall, the Lions are 21st VS the pass. Rodgers is averaging over 350 yards per game. I think Rodgers will be the highest scoring QB this week.
Tony Romo – If this game goes as most expect, the Cowboys will be trailing early and throwing often. The Broncos allow over 316 passing yards per game and are 30th against the pass.
Eli Manning – Eli has the best match up in football this week. The Eagles have the worst overall defense in the NFL. They are ranked 31st against the pass and allow the 2nd most FPPG to QBs. Manning is cheap and still has some very good weapons.
Running Back
McCoy and Forte are obvious and happen to be my two favorite plays if you can afford either of them.
Ray Rice – John Harbaugh claims he is going to commit to his RB as the focal point of their offense moving forward. Rice is still a stud running back, enjoy his discounted price. Mia is allowing the 28th most FPPG to the RBs.
Eddie Lacy – Lacy is going to be the featured back in what should be a high scoring game. The Lions are allowing the 29th most FPPG to RBs.
Wide Receiver

Victor Cruz – Mr. Salsa is the only Giant not underachieving this year. The Eagles allow the most FPPG to WRs.
Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb – Pick your poison. This game will be a shootout and I think both receivers will have big days. Detroit could be without its top two CBs this week and the Lions are ranked 21st against the pass despite having a weak schedule to date.
Julian Edelman – Edelman was targeted nine times last week. It was the fourth straight game he’s caught at least seven passes. Edelman is tied for the NFL lead with 34 receptions.
Tight End
Greg Olsen – The Cardinals are the 2nd best team against the run. Their game plan will be to shut down the run and keep Cam Newton in the pocket. If they are successful, that should mean a big game from Olsen.

Jared Cook – The Rams will put up points and Bradford will look to his favorite target Cook often. The Jags give up the 23rd most FPPG to the TE.
Kicker
Matt Prater – Guaranteed points. Did I just say that about a kicker?
Greg Zuerlein – He is cheap, has a big leg, and the Rams will score.
Defenses
Kansas City Chiefs – They just keep rolling. More sacks to come.
St. Louis Rams – They are cheap and playing the Jags.
Part 2 – GPP’s
GPP’s are a completely different story. You need guys to have huge days. GPP’s are all about upside. Value players are just as important as your studs in this game type.
Quarterback
Michael Vick – Vick has huge GPP upside. The fact that he has struggled of late means his price has come down. The NY Giants are giving up over 36 point per game this season and are ranked 28th in FPPG to the opposing QB.
Sam Bradford – The Jaguars are giving up over 32 PPG and allow the 26th most FPPG VS the QB. The Rams have no running game and Bradford averages over 45 pass attempts per game.
Terrelle Pryor – San Diego’s defense is ranked 30th overall and 29th against the pass. They are allowing over 26 FPPG to the QB.
Running Back

Rashad Jennings – It appears as though both Run DMC and Reece will be out for week 5. This opens the door for Jennings. In week 4 Jennings had 116 total yards. The Chargers are ranked 25th VS the run.
Giovani Bernard – The rookie is averaging 4.59 YPC. He was on the field for 50 of 68 snaps last week and finally appears to separating himself from BJGE. The Patriots will also be without Pro Bowl run stopper Vince Wilfork.
David Wilson – It looks like Wilson is going to be more involved moving forward. Last week he had 13 carries and his first two catches of the season. Wilson is going to explode one of these weeks and is facing the Eagles 26th ranked defense against the run.
Wide Receiver
Kenbrell Thompkins – Thompkins has become Brady’s favorite target. Gronk is out and I do not see Amendola playing a lot if he is able to go. Thompkins is tied for 2nd in red zone targets and tied for 1st in goal line looks.
Hakeem Nicks – Nicks has great value this week. He is cheap and the Eagles are awful defensively. If the Eagles double team Cruz, Nicks could be a huge GPP play.
Tight End

Charles Clay & Brent Celek – Both players are great options if you plan to punt TE. Last week Tannehill targeted Clay 6 times, for 6 receptions, 42 yards and a TD. Baltimore is allowing 12.5 FPPG VS the TE position. Celek is facing a Giants team that is ranked 29th VS the TE position allowing 15.7 FPPG.
Kicker
Sebastian Janikowski –The Raiders should put some points up against a bad Chargers defense. Seabass is cheap and still has a big leg.
Josh Brown – Another cheap option, Brown should have plenty of chances to put up some point against the Eagles.
Defenses
Carolina Panthers – The Cards are a mess right now. Palmer is erratic, Fitzgerald is hurt and they no have running game. The Panthers rank 10th in overall defense and nobody is talking about them.
Atlanta Falcons – The Jets offense is awful, and they might be without Holmes and Hill.
