Cowboys vs. Buccaneers – NFL Wild Card Player Props
- Dak Prescott to throw an interception
- Tom Brady to throw an interception
- Chris Godwin u7.5 receptions
Dak Prescott to throw an interception (-160)
During the regular season, Dak Prescott ranked 19th out of 24 quarterbacks in turnover-worthy-play rate, per Pro Football Focus. In 12 games played this fall, Prescott threw an 15 total interceptions, with only two games in which he did not throw a pick. On Monday, he will face a Tampa Bay defense that will have each of their top three cornerbacks and top three safeties healthy and available for the first time since Week 4. During the first three weeks of the campaign, prior to having their secondary unit decimated by injury, Tampa Bay led the NFL in defensive EPA overall, ranking 1st in dropback EPA in that span. Expect Prescott to make at least one ill-advised throw this evening, and for the Buccaneers to capitalize.
Tom Brady to throw an interception (-133)
In 17 games this fall, Tom Brady had a 2-to-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio when under duress, with a turnover-worthy-play rate that approached five percent. Last year, Brady also struggled when under pressure, throwing five interceptions – a consistent theme from the last few years. This evening, Brady will have to face a Dallas defense that ranked 2nd in sacks per pass attempt in 2022. Playing behind an offensive line that had numerous players limited during this week at practice, Brady is likely to find himself under pressure frequently on Monday – expect him to make at least one mistake.
Chris Godwin u7.5 receptions (-150)
Tonight, Chris Godwin draws a difficult matchup in the slot against DaRon Bland, who is the primary slot cornerback for the Cowboys. A fifth-round draft pick out of Fresno State, Bland finished his rookie season ranked 14th out of 123 qualified cornerbacks this year in coverage grade, per Pro Football Focus. Bland had back-to-back poor performances in Week 15 and Week 16, but was otherwise excellent in 2022. Godwin is Brady’s favorite target in short-yardage situations, but this is a tall number for him against a capable defender in this spot.
