Primetime Parlay: Eagles vs. Seahawks Same Game Parlay Picks
Monday Night Football brings another opportunity to build a same-game parlay at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Eagles travel west to do battle with the Seattle Seahawks.
The fifteenth week of the NFL season closes with an NFC Showdown in Seattle between the Eagles and Seahawks. The Eagles are favored despite the status of Jalen Hurts being in jeopardy. The Seahawks are likely to play without Geno Smith meaning we could be promised a matchup between Marcus Mariota and Drew Lock.
The game remains important to the Eagles who look to grab a tighter grip on the NFC East and stay linked with San Francisco ahead of the NFC playoffs. We will check on injury news and betting odds while looking at relevant statistics before making our SGP ticket.
Eagles vs. Seahawks Same Game Parlay Preview
FanDuel Sportsbook posts a -3.5 betting spread in favor of the Philadelphia Eagles at the time of this writing. ScoresAndOdds reports a heavy volume of betting handle hammering the Eagles’ side of the spread despite the news about Jalen Hurts. With Drew Lock potentially starting — we will get to this momentarily — for the Seahawks, I am not surprised that more money hasn’t found the Seahawks.
As for the implied game total, bookmakers posted it at 45 points. 71% of betting tickets and 65% of betting handle rests on the under. This seems to be a direct response to the potential injury news as the total has moved from 48 points.
As of this writing, no final status for Jalen Hurts has been reported by the Eagles. The quarterback fell ill over the weekend putting his ability to start tonight in jeopardy. Without Hurts, the Eagles would turn the keys over to Marcus Mariota to somehow find a way to manage a victory on the road. Additionally, Darius Slay is out after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. The veteran corner was not placed on the IR because he should be back in time for the postseason run.
For the Seahawks, Geno Smith is the biggest question mark with his groin injury. Reports seem to suggest Smith is very unlikely to play on Monday night. In his absence, we would get another serving of Drew Lock against the horrid pass defense of the Eagles. Buyer beware but the Eagles’ secondary has been torched by wide receivers throughout the season.
Let’s take a look at offensive statistics for both teams that might become less vital if either or both quarterbacks do not play tonight:
Philadelphia Offense
7th — 26.3 PPG
11th — 5.4 YPP
6th — 7.5 Passing YPA
14th — 4.1 Rushing YPA
Seattle Offense
18th — 21.5 PPG
10th — 5.5 YPP
8th — 7.3 Passing YPA
19th — 4.0 Rushing YPA
The Philadelphia defense allows 6.5 yards per pass attempt but 7.7 over the last three weeks. Injuries have piled up and a defense that once welcomed teams to pass it on them is now begging them to stop. A once-vaunted front, The Eagles are 23rd in sack rate and simply do not get to the quarterback.
When I initially looked at this game I thought the most noteworthy item to report on defense was how bad the Eagles have been of late. Well, the Seahawks’ pass defense might be worse. If Jalen Hurts can fully go in tonight’s game, we should consider his passing props as the Seahawks haven’t stopped anyone. Coupled with a struggling rushing attack, Hurts could be forced to throw the football a lot if he ends up making the start.
What might keep Hurts from being overused, though, would be that the Seahawks could be the perfect tonic for a struggling rushing attack. The Seahawks have allowed 5.3 yards per rush attempt over the last three weeks. With Hurts ailing, perhaps the Eagles use D’Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell more tonight in the case that the Eagles open with a lead.
This early in the day, we have so many question marks that surround the most important two players in the game. I am going to let ParlayIQ help me sort this mess out but will lean towards Jalen Hurts playing on Monday night until I am told otherwise.
Same Game Parlay Picks for Eagles at Seahawks
- Hurts Over 32.5 Rushing Yards
- Goedert Over 42.5 Receiving Yards
- Hurts Anytime Touchdown
Jalen Hurts Over 32.5 Rushing Yards
If he plays, I am going to treat Jalen Hurts like he is a full go. Hurts is the most dynamic player in this football game and should be able to have his way with the Seattle defense if he gets the nod.
The Seahawks defense has struggled with opposing rushing attacks and is likely to struggle even more with Jalen Hurts as part of a run-pass option. There is always something very comfortable about betting Jalen Hurts to go over his rushing total knowing that a handful of “Brotherly Shoves” are going to cancel out kneel-downs for us.
With the Cowboys losing to the Bills, the Eagles cannot monkey around. If Hurts is cleared, I expect the full version of Jalen Hurts.
Dallas Goedert Over 42.5 Receiving Yards
The Seahawks have allowed 738 yards to the tight end position. While they do get the brunt of George Kittle twice per season, many of the other tight ends are not of the caliber of Dallas Goedert — nor do they have the role.
Coming off of an injury, Goedert wasted no time receiving four targets from Jalen Hurts. The Eagles have plenty of mouths to feed but when Goedert is healthy, he is going to get his share of 4-6 targets each game. Against a weak secondary, Goedert should be able to make more out of those opportunities.
Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown
I mean… why not?
ParlayIQ loves adding this prop to our parlay after we included Jalen Hurts going over his rushing prop. Any time the Eagles are remotely near the two-yard line, you can count on Jalen Hurts getting pushed into the endzone. I have become acutely aware of just how often teams get to the one-yard line by counting Hurts’ touchdowns throughout the season.
As I mentioned, if Hurts is in then I must consider him in. We close with a touchdown from the MVP candidate.
Eagles vs. Seahawks Parlay Odds
