Hittin' The Nuts - SquirrelPatrol's NFL DFS Lineup Advice for Monday Night Football (Falcons vs. Eagles)
Want to hit the nuts and take down 1st place in these massive contests posted by FanDuel and DraftKings? Who better to walk you through their favorite NFL DFS picks than SquirrelPatrol! Undoubtedly one of the best DFS players in the game, SquirrelPatrol has accumulated 100+ Live Final seats, took 2nd place in the 2023 DraftKings Fantasy Baseball World Championship for a $600,000 prize, and most recently, took down the NFL Milly Maker in Week 2 of last season.
Week 2 concludes with an NFC showdown between the Falcons and Eagles in Philadelphia. The Falcons come in at 0-1 after dropping their opener to the Steelers, while the Eagles come in at 1-0 with an extra couple of days rest after beating the Packers in Brazil last Friday. We already have some big injury news for this contest with AJ Brown injuring his hamstring in practice and being declared out for this game. These teams are both different from last season, with the Falcons changing up their coaching staff in the offseason and now free from Arthur Smith, while the Eagles added Saquon Barkley in the offseason. We caught some glimpses of how the teams will operate differently in Week 1, but it will be interesting to see which trends continue through the season. While Brown’s absence is the biggest injury news, we don’t know exactly how the Eagles will use their practice squad to replace him, with Johnny Wilson (questionable) and Parris Campbell (practice squad) possibilities, so be sure to follow the RotoGrinders’ NFL starting lineups page for updated depth chart information as inactives hit for the latest details.
Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

Falcons vs. Eagles Showdown NFL DFS Lineup Advice
Primetime Game History
We don’t have to go back too far for the Eagles’ last primetime game, as they opened the season on Friday night against the Packers in Brazil. It wasn’t much of a surprise to see Jalen Hurts as the highest-owned player in the Showdown contests for that game, with Hurts landing on 17.2% of lineups at the CPT spot and another 61% at the FLEX. Saquon Barkley also saw double-digit ownership at the CPT spot (11.7%), while the Eagles pass catchers DeVonta Smith (6.2%), AJ Brown (5.9%), and Dallas Goedert (3.7%) all saw less ownership. Hurts, Barkley, and Brown all made it onto the winning roster in the FLEX spots (along with Eagles kicker Jake Elliott), but it was Packers WR Jayden Reed who was the winning CPT. Interestingly, the 2nd-best and 3rd-best lineups for that contest both faded Hurts entirely.
While the Eagles are recent primetime participants, the Falcons haven’t appeared in a primetime game since 2022. Given their turnover and coaching changes, there probably isn’t much benefit from analyzing their single-game contests from that time frame.
Looking at lineups from the Eagles’ last primetime game, we once again see a contest where rosters with a highly-owned QB CPT get beat by a lower-owned pass catcher who has a big game at a lower price. Interestingly, the roster contained both Barkley and Hurts, a construction I would have avoided, but that hit when Saquon caught an 18-yard TD pass from Hurts. The roster also had Reed at the CPT spot without his QB. Both of these situations are rules I’ll keep in mind when making groups for this contest.
