Finding Paydirt: Week 14 Results
Happy Tuesday, Grinders! Business is picking up as the NFL season winds down. The overall lead in our contest shrunk by a couple of touchdowns as PRBill1 is starting the month hot. Yours truly is not far behind this month even if I am buried in the overall standings. The leaderboard is below with some commentary and takeaways from Week 14.

Jared Cook proved helpful — collecting two early touchdowns in the Saints-49ers shootout. Outside of Cook, the NFL featured a bevy of single-touchdown scorers — highlighted by Aaron Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, and Melvin Gordon.
BroLantis and raschara collected three touchdowns apiece in Week 14 — immediately vaulting them into consideration for this month’s prize. PRBill1 collected another two touchdowns to move to four for the month. PRBill1 also happens to be closer to 1010mg as the latter only found one touchdown this week. With a seven-touchdown lead, though, 1010mg still sits pretty as the weeks get crossed off.
Week 14 Takeaways
How does Jason Garrett still coach in the NFL? I know that the rumors about his seat warming up seem to point towards his ouster. Yet, how is he even still in position in 2019? The Cowboys were once considered a legitimate SuperBowl contender and now find themselves potentially missing the playoffs with FAR too much talent.
Are the Titans potentially making a mistake by resigning Ryan Tannehill? I know that at the moment Tannehill’s play seems to have vaulted the Titans to a legitimate playoff contender and threat. How many times have we seen this, though? A really good stretch of weeks that lead to an early playoff loss and a big contract for an overachiever. I hope Tannehill does succeed but a longer contract seems ill-advised.
Zach Ertz is the best tight end in the NFL — according to Booger McFarland. He is definitely not the best but aside from Jason Witten, is anyone slower? Ertz was so wide open on two plays and may have collected 5-6 yards after the catch.
The Patriots’ offense looks so bad. Does Tom Brady deserve a bulk of the blame? Are the weapons a concern? The referees certainly did not help on Sunday but New England, otherwise, looked pretty terrible on Sunday. The defense is so good while the offense… it just doesn’t seem to be playoff-caliber.
