Heat vs. Nuggets NBA Prop bets

Jimmy Butler u27.5 points (-118), FanDuel

The postseason hero from the first three rounds was Jimmy Butler, who led the charge for the Miami Heat en route to upsetting the 1-seeded Milwaukee Bucks, followed by series wins against the heavily favored New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. The reality is that Butler and the Heat are simply overmatched against the much bigger and stronger Denver Nuggets. In four games to begin this series, Butler has gone under this market number three times and has only shot better than 45.8% from the field once. Traveling into the altitude for Game 5, Butler is likely to find it difficult to score the basketball once again – take the under.

Nikola Jokic u12.5 rebounds (+108), FanDuel

In Game 4, Nikola Jokic had 12 rebounds, but only 15 rebound chances – suggesting that he secured far more actual rebounds than expected given his opportunities. Heading into Game 5, the natural inclination for the betting community is to take the over on everything related to Jokic. However, the under has value at plus money in a spot where Jokic could continue to be pulled away from the rim. Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter, and others on the Denver roster can all contribute in this area of the game, making it difficult to mathematically arrive at an over in this spot for Jokic on the glass.

NBA DFS Pick’em

Jamal Murray more than 8.5 assists, PrizePicks

To begin this series, we thought the Miami Heat would be able to limit Jamal Murray as a facilitator. Good thing we admitted our mistake early in this series and have been able to take advantage of the other side of the market the last few games. Jamal Murray had 17 potential assists in the series opener, followed by 21 potential assists in Game 2. In Game 3, Murray had another 16 potential assists. In Game 4, Murray had 18 potential assists. The market continues to creep up on Murray’s assist number, but not quickly enough. There is still value here heading into Game 5.
