Sunday Night Football features a doozy in Week 10. The Lions travel to Houston for a clash between playoff contenders. The Texans continue to battle injuries, while the Lions scan as a Super Bowl contender. Will Jared Goff and company stay hot on the road? Will the Texans be able to keep pace with the Lions?

Check out our Same Game Parlay Guide before we break down tonight’s game and build a same game parlay for Sunday Night Football.

Lions vs. Texans Same Game Parlay Preview

DraftKings Sportsbook posts the Texans as 3.5-point home underdogs. The injury issues persist for the Texans, and the Lions look to be a juggernaut. Even without Aidan Hutchinson, the Lions are steamrolling opponents with a ferocious ground game and a quarterback playing the best football of his career.

The implied game total is 49.5 on DraftKings, and ScoresAndOdds supports the loftiness of the betting line. 83% of betting tickets are on the over. With the Texans’ only likely recourse on Sunday night to throw the football, the points could be plentiful indoors on Sunday night.

The Texans did not come in to Week 10 with all bad news. Yes, Stefon Diggs is out for the remainder of the season. However, Nico Collins could return on Sunday night to retake the alpha reins in the Houston offense. Collins was putting together fantasy WR1 numbers early in the season. Without Diggs and likely playing from behind, Collins won’t have much time to shake off the rust. C.J. Stroud will need to lean on the big-bodied receiver throughout the game if he can play. Tank Dell is also expected to play despite a questionable tag. Both receivers find themselves in a great matchup if they can suit up on Sunday night.

The bad news? Will Anderson, Jr. is out with his ankle injury from Week 9. Anderson could have caused havoc with Detroit down their LT. Dameon Pierce is also out. Aside from Taylor Decker being ruled out, the Lions will see a couple of returns or additions. New acquisition Za’Darius Smith is questionable to play after being traded by the Browns. Jameson Williams returns from his 2-game suspension on Sunday night.

The Lions’ defense is not a mystery. The Lions are going to sell out to stop the run at all costs. The Lions averaged 106.4 rushing yards against in 2024 despite giving up some big totals over the last few weeks. Additionally, Detroit has allowed the 6th-lowest total rushing yards to the running back position. For the Houston Texans, the ball needs to get downfield.

Consequently, the Lions allowed the 2nd-most receiving yards to the wide receiver position in 2024. Nico Collins could be greeted by a fantastic matchup. If the Texans can protect C.J. Stroud, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell could be in for a great night. Unfortunately, The Texans are letting C.J. Stroud get sacked more than 9% of the time. The Texans will need to shore up their blocking to give Stroud a chance to deliver the football downfield.

For the Lions, what do you take away? David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs continue to run over defensive fronts. Jared Goff leads the NFL in completion percentage by a large margin. Amon-Ra St. Brown continues to make a big difference all over the field. The Texans rank in the top 5 in yards per play on defense but will have their hands full on Sunday night.

Let’s comb through the offerings on DraftKings and build a same game parlay for Sunday Night Football.

Same Game Parlay Picks for Lions vs. Texans

Jahmyr Gibbs Over 62.5 Rushing Yards

Possibly the most electric player on the field on Sunday night, Jahmyr Gibbs opens up our same game parlay on Sunday night. Gibbs eclipsed this mark 6 of 8 games this season (missed once by a single yard) and normally exceeds this rushing number by a lot. Gibbs continues to represent a big-play threat with every touch, possessing a carry for at least 15 yards or more in 7 consecutive games.

The Lions will not alter their approach. They are going to run the football repeatedly. Gibbs will see double-digit carries on Sunday night with a 6.4 yards per carry average. With respect to game script, Gibbs offers us the perfect script for the Lions to take a lead and try to salt the game away with the run.

Tank Dell Over 62.5 Receiving Yards

We won’t have confirmation for the status of Nico Collins until the afternoon on Sunday. That said, Tank Dell will play on Sunday night and could eclipse this number even if Collins can go. The Lions allow plenty of production to the wide receiver position- more than enough for both players.

If the Texans are conservative with Collins, both of our props get a big bump. Gibbs is more likely to rush the football if the Lions are ahead, and Dell will need more opportunities as the Texans try to catch up.

C.J. Stroud Over 33.5 Pass Attempts

Finally, if we believe the Lions are going to win this football game, C.J. Stroud will need to throw the football. The Texans continue to establish Joe Mixon on the ground to help keep C.J. Stroud clean. Against the Lions, that might not be tenable. The Lions will force the Texans to throw the football.

In the case that the Lions can jump out to a lead, C.J. Stroud will attempt plenty of passes. If the game shoots out, both quarterbacks might throw the football. The Texans’ most efficient path to offensive production will not be on the ground. Expect Stroud to throw the football early and often on Sunday night.
