Wednesday, July 25th

Well, happy early Wednesday. We have a load of day games today, and the sites have eight-game slates beginning at 12:10 ET. I’m going to be a little less wordy than usual in an attempt to get this out early enough for you to have time to chew on and still get lineups in by this early deadline. I’ll be back in the early afternoon with a look at the smaller four-game evening slate.

This early slate is really wide open from all angles. We have one ace pitcher that stands alone, but at an extreme price tag that makes him far from a must play. Nearly every one of the teams falls within a narrow range of the same projected run total with no clear obvious stacks or must spends. The night slate is far simpler to break down with only a couple viable paths to take.

EVENING SLATE PITCHING

We’ve got just four games on tap tonight, with one of them being a complete non-factor for pitchers. The best pitcher on the slate is Charlie Morton, and he is in Coors Field with some potential weather issues. Let’s assume for the time being that the weather clears enough that pitchers are tournament viable in both Colorado and Baltimore, which would then make this essentially a Tyler Skaggs and David Price vs Charlie Morton slate, with perhaps some deeper tournament shares of Jon Gray and Dylan Bundy.
