MLB $1M Five Year Anniversary Grand Finale Review: Friday, April 28th
The Grinder review series will provide the reader with a breakdown of the exposures of “top of the leaderboard” players, the top single-entry lineup, and a comparison between all single-entry lineups and professionals for large slate DraftKings GPPs.
This week, we looked at the $1M Five Year Anniversary Grand Finale [$150K to 1st!] on DraftKings with a buy-in of $555 and maximum entry limit of 150 lineups per person.
Multi-Entry Grinders of the Game
ChipotleAddict preferred the White Sox in a shootout versus Detroit and leaned on one of the best in Max Scherzer and a matchup with Philly was too good to pass up with Kenta on the mound. Chipotle put up 60 lineups and was able to capitalize on finishing with four inside the top-25 and an overall cash rate of 46.7%. His 6th place finish, which was good for $20k, relied on the White Sox, coupled with a few Angels.
Rotomania did not have the same thought as he rostered the White Sox on a few lineups, but instead favored the Los Angeles Dodgers by a landslide. Although favoring the best pitching point total on the night (Jacob deGrom), a great value play in Luis Perdomo, and fading the cold Max Scherzer, allowed Roto to fill out his batting order with supreme talent. The Dodgers had one of the higher game totals on the night, but he followed up that heavy ownership with a large stake in Arizona, who were projected to put up five runs and disappointed with one. Overall Roto’s big finish was with an 8th place finish on just 20 lineups and finishing with an outstanding cash rate of 85%.
Tommyg1979’s ownership was pretty straightforward as he played just two lineups and managed to take down 9th place with only one of them. It included a number of Yankees from their 14-11 win over Baltimore and he filled it in with a handful of single players (Aaron Altherr – 0, Jordy Mercer – 20, Austin Hedges – 5). Stroman picked up the slack as Scherzer disappointed, but Tommy still took some to the bank.
Single-Entry Winner of the Game
Meerkat finished with 195.75 Draftkings points and was 30.95 points off from the lead. However, he was still able to land in 5th due to the variability of the MLB and the wide range of options you have. Meerkat made the right moves though as he favored the Yankees in their 14-11 win over the Orioles, and filled out his bats with some Brewers, who fell short of Atlanta, but finished with a exceptional eight runs.
