MLB $400K Super Slurve Review: Monday, June 27th
The Grinder review series will provide the reader with a breakdown of the exposures of “top of the leaderboard” players, the top single-entry lineup, and a comparison between all single entry lineups and professionals for large slate and massive prize pool GPPs.
Today we looked at the $400K Super Slurve [$100K to 1st!] on DraftKings with a buy-in of $4.
Multi-Entry Grinders of the Game
One thing was for sure on this slate, if you didn’t have much exposure to Kris Bryant, you didn’t go too far. DraftCheat had overwhelmingly stacked the Chicago Cubs, and a fair amount of Colorado, with 43% of Kris Bryant securing a 64.3% cash rate. With just 28 entries, DraftCheat peaked at a 159th finish.

McJester boasted just field-average ownership of Kris Bryant, but was heavy on several other key components: Danny Duffy, Anthony Rizzo, Carlos Gonzalez, and Mike Trout. Over 200 entries, he managed to cash at a 52.5% clip and secured 13 finishes inside the top 1000.

Single-Entry Winner of the Game
Lewronn took down the Super Slurve for $100K by a margin of over 8.5 points! He didn’t stray too far from many of the chalk plays, but instead made each pick count with a near flawless lineup. This featured single hitters from several different teams each going for at least 2 hits and a multitude of HRs. When several chalk plays like this go off, any team stack probably won’t cut it.

Single-Entry vs. DraftCheat/McJester
Out of 117,647 entries in the Super Slurve, 17,907 of those entries (15.2%) were entered courtesy of players using a single bullet. The table below compares the exposures of those single entries to the exposures of DraftChear, McJester, and 40 other top professionals picked off of RotoGrinders’ leaderboard:
