Pitcher Grind Down
- James Paxton – 1 start and he goes 6 IP with 3 K and 1 earned. Beyond that I don’t know anything about the guy and he is gonna try to beat an STL team that hits well at home. Starter Rating: 1 out of 10
- Michael Wacha – The back to back starts without allowing an ER is promising but it looks like he’s learning to pitch to contact more of late. That’s great for the Cardinals who are trying to win games but not great for fantasy owners. 5 K’s in those 2 starts doesn’t equal upside. Starter Rating: 6 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- I don’t know anything about Paxton but play STL bats with caution. They’re ice cold right now
- Wacha has been near unhittable against lefties but has a .747 OPS against right handed bats on the season.
- This game is a mess to me, seems like it’s best left untouched.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Bartolo Colon – He was great in his last start….against Houston. He’s not in play for me today at all because his K-rate is extremely low of late. Starter Rating: 2 out of 10
- Yu Darvish – If he wasn’t facing the hottest offense in baseball I’d be way more into this play. But Holland got roughed up by the A’s on Friday and they’ve been destroying aces in the last month. Call me crazy but Darvish isn’t worth the price tag tonight. Starter Rating: 6 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Adrian Beltre is 19-66 with 5 HR off of Colon. Rios is 9-29 with 2 XBH. Pierzynski hits just .209 off Fatolo but has 2 HR
- Alberto Callaspo is a ridiculous 7-18 off Darvish with 3 XBH. Seth Smith is 5-13, Daric Barton is 3-4 and Moss is 4-12 with 3 Homers.
- Oakland is on fire and making aces cry right now. Seriously consider a semi-Athletics stack in big GPPs today
- Bartolo has struggled most against lefties, allowing them to hit for a .712 OPS against

Pitcher Grind Down
- Roy Oswalt – ERA on the season is 8.57. ERA over the last 14 days is 13.50. Put those together and you couldn’t pay me to play him. Starter Rating: 0 out of 10
- Wade Miley – He’s been stellar in 2 starts against the Rockies this season, posting a .56 ERA against. The downside are some recent struggles but all-in-all I see this as a good chance for him to earn a win and if he can keep the damage against him relatively low he’ll hit value. Starter Rating: 6 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- This is not the Oswalt of old. This is the new and horrific one. Target all ARI bats.
- Lefties are hitting .381 and righties are hitting .347 against him! That’s offensively bad.
- Wilin Rosario is 5-11 with a HR off Miley. Fowler is 4-14 with a HR as well
- The early line is set to 9 runs in this game and I’d be shocked if more than that weren’t scored

Pitcher Grind Down
- Tim Lincecum – He’s been OK against the Dodgers this season with a 3.38 ERA in 2 starts but his strikeouts haven’t been there. He also hasn’t gone over 5 K’s in any of his past 3 starts and the Dodgers play well at home. I see this as a GPP only play. Starter Rating: 6.5 out of 10
- Ricky Nolasco – He’s been extremely consistent, and even better lately averaging 18 FPPG over the last 14 days. He draws one of the league’s worst offenses with a low O/U and at home. The stars are aligning for the Dodgers mid-season acquisition tonight. Starter Rating: 9 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- HanRam is 5-16 with a HR off Lincecum. The rest of the Dodgers have average to subpar BvP splits except Ethier who hits .265 with 2 HR off Big-Time-Timmy-Jim
- Kung Fu Panda is 6-13 with 2 HR off NoLasCo. Andres Torres is 7-16 and Pence is 8 for 29 with 4 homers.
- The Giants have some pretty good experience against Nolasco but still with the line at 7, I see this being more of a pitcher’s duel than a game to target hitters.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Ubaldo Jimenez – Don’t look now but Ubaldo has been great lately. 9.69 K/9 with a 2.08 ERA over the last 2 weeks and 3 double digit K games in his last 4. His ceiling is as high as any pitchers and the matchup is perfect. He’s always a risk, but that risk is reduced a bit tonight. Starter Rating: 9 out of 10
- Andre Rienzo – It’s not that he’s bad, he just hasn’t been all that good. He had one of his better starts last time out against Baltimore but his ERA in the last 2 weeks is still closer to 7 and Cleveland came into Friday night with the 2nd hottest offense in baseball. Starter Rating: 3 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
- Viciedo is 6-12, Beckham is 6-15, De Aza is 5-16 and Konerko is 4-13 off Ubaldo
- Consider avoiding Adam Dunn, who is just 5-29 with 16 strikeouts off Jimenez
- Ryan Raburn has 10 RBI in his last 8 at bats (heading into Friday night)
- Rienzo has allowed righties to hit for an .897 OPS against this year, which bumps up Raburn even more if he’s in the lineup.
