Pitcher Grind Down
- Erasmo Ramirez – Ramirez has pitched respectably for the Mariners. He’s been much better in the second half of the season but is still only a marginal fantasy option. Pitcher Rating: 4 out of 10
- Shelby Miller – Shelby has been dominant all year at Busch Stadium and has a favorable matchup today versus a somewhat weak hitting Seattle team. Pitcher Rating: 8 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Righties are hitting just .205 versus Miller this season, so expect the Mariners to load up with their many left-handed batters.
Kendrys Morales is red hot at the plate and has three homeruns in the last week.
Lefties have had far more success against Ramirez, so Matt Adams and Jon Jay are both strong options today.
Oakland vs. Texas

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jarrod Parker – Parker owns a 6-1 career record versus Texas with a 2.93 ERA and .98 WHIP. He’s pitched better on the road this year and has posted a 2.97 ERA in the second half. Pitcher Rating: 6 out of 10
- Martin Perez – Perez sports a 2.87 ERA at Rangers Ballpark and rolled through the A’s lineup in their only other meeting this year. With that said, I still don’t feel comfortable trusting him with my money. Pitcher Rating: 5 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Lefties have far more success against Parker than righties do, so Pierzynski, Martin and Moreland are all in play.
Josh Donaldson absolutely crushed left-handed pitching and should be considered across the board.
Colorado vs. Arizona

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jhoulys Chacin – When he is outside of Colorado, Chacin is an All-Star type pitcher (2.10 road ERA). He has also pitched extremely well versus Arizona this year. Pitcher Rating: 7 out of 10
- Randall Delgado – Delgado was terrible in his last start versus L.A., surrendering four homeruns in just 2.2 innings. He’s been better at home but just can’t be trusted. Pitcher Rating: 3 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Lefties have far more success versus Chacin than right handers do, so give Adam Eaton a look as he’s the leadoff man for the Diamondbacks.
Michael Cuddyer is hitting .351 versus right handed pitchers this year and has been on fire over the last week.
San Francisco vs. LA Dodgers

Pitcher Grind Down
- Ryan Vogelsong – Vogelsong has not performed well in his last several starts (all season, frankly). He was pounded by the Dodgers in their only other meeting and is not a strong fantasy option today. Pitcher Rating: 3 out of 10
- Edinson Volquez – Volquez has been in decline for several years now and is hanging on to his MLB gig by a thread. He sports a 5.99 ERA and should not be trusted. Pitcher Rating: 3 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Right handed batters are hitting .337 off of Vogelsong this season.
Juan Uribe is 2 for 3 off of Vogelsong and randomly decided to bust out his boom stick this week.
Buster Posey, Pablo Sandoval and Brandon Belt all have very strong BvP numbers versus Volquez.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Ivan Nova – Nova has been pretty solid over the last two months, but comes into today’s start after two consecutive sub par outings. The Red Sox have blasted him in his career and there are better options out there today. Pitcher Rating: 5 out of 10
- Clay Buchholz – After spending three months on the DL, Buchholz returned in style last week by shutting down the Rays for five innings. He’s traditionally struggled versus the Yankees, but appears to be a different quality of pitcher this season. Pitcher Rating: 7 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Both Robinson Cano and Alex Rodriguez have favorable BvP numbers against Buchholz.
Will Middlebrooks is 2 for 2 off of Nova, but is also 0 for his last 17.
David Ortiz sports an insane 1.116 versus right handed pitchers and has also had success in the past versus Nova (5 for 14 with a homerun).
