What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 6.5
- Favored Team – WAS -134
Pitcher Grind Down
WAS – We have a pitcher’s duel on our hands in this one. Gio Gonzalez has been good at home all season long where he owns a 3.03 ERA and a K rate of one per inning which is always nice to see from a pitcher. He has a great matchup against the Giants tonight who are batting .253 on the road. If he can manage to get Posey out, the rest of the lineup should follow. Rating = 9
SF – I like both of these pitchers tonight, the problem is that they both hurt each other’s chances to get the win. I could see this being a 1-1 game that ends up going into extra innings. Madison Bumgarner has had an amazing season and the Nats are one of the worst teams in baseball against left hand pitching. On the season, they own a .222 batting average against lefties. Rating = 8
Batter Grind Down
WAS/SF – Nothing favors any of the hitters in this game. The pitchers, the BvP, the Vegas odds. Best route is just to steer clear from these hitters.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – NYY -150
Pitcher Grind Down
NYY – CC Sabathia has really been struggling lately, even in his last start where he managed to go more than 7 innings, most of his outs were deep fly outs or line outs. He only managed to pick up one strikeout and he was facing the below average White Sox. I just have a hard time trusting him right now and even though the Angels team is a bit short handed, they have still been scoring a good number of runs. Rating = 5
LAA – Jason Vargas is making his first start in over 6 weeks. While the Yankees are awful against left hand pitchers, I don’t know what to expect out of Vargas. He will likely be a little bit rusty and will also likely be on a pitch limit. Plus, the Yankees now have a few right hand bats to throw at him. Rating = 3
Batter Grind Down
NYY – This is the exact reason the Yankees traded for Alfonso Soriano, they needed help against left hand pitching. I think he makes a really good option tonight as he is batting .275 on the season against lefties. I don’t like A-Rod, but hey he is a right hand bat.
LAA – The Angels are currently without Pujols and Kendrick, but they still have Trout, Trumbo, and Aybar that all hit lefties well. I think they are all in play tonight against the skinny CC.

BOS vs R | BOS BvP | TOR vs R | TOR BvP | ||||||
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 10.0
- Favored Team – BOS -115
Pitcher Grind Down
TOR – You don’t see a game with an over/under in double digits very often and when you do it is usually either in Coors Field or in Wrigley and the wind is blowing out. Today that reason is the pitching. Todd Redmond has been serviceable for the Jays, but I don’t have any faith in him and neither does Vegas. Rating = 2
BOS – Ryan Dempster has been the same guy all season long, he is going to give up a good number of hits, allow a few earned runs, and pick up 6-7 strikeouts along the way. Put him in a very hitter friendly park against a very good offense and I don’t think I will like the result. I really like the Blue Jays bats tonight. Rating = 2
Batter Grind Down
TOR – Dempster is giving up an OPS of .864 to right hand bats this season including 14 HR’s. This looks like a great spot to take the power bats of the Jays. Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion, Adam Lind, and even Jose Reyes should be on your radar.
BOS – Redmond has been good at home this season, but I have a feeling that his ERA will be going up quite a bit after tonight’s game. The Red Sox have too many weapons and this one has all the makings of a shootout. Jacoby Ellsbury and David Ortiz both get the lefty/righty splits in their favor.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – TB -190
Pitcher Grind Down
TB – The Mariners bats have gone cold over the last week with a batting average of only .216. While they hit righties well, I think this could be a great spot for young Chris Archer. He has a 2.37 ERA at home with a WHIP of 1.00. He is catching the M’s at a perfect time and is a monster favorite. Rating = 8
SEA – Erasmo Ramriez is a guy that I think is underrated, he has a good K rate and has shown that he can get big league hitters out. That said, he has been giving up a lot of runs this year and the Rays are a really good offensive team. Rating = 4
Batter Grind Down
TB – Rays are a big favorite tonight so make sure to target a few of their bats. Erasmo is giving up a .935 OPS to right hand bats, look for Evan Longoria and Will Myers to take advantage.
SEA – The M’s bats are cold and Archer has been a stud at home. Most likely those two things will continue tonight.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – ATL -250
Pitcher Grind Down
ATL – After many months of being frustrated with Kris Medlen, I finally hopped off of his bandwagon and started taking hitters against him. His strikeout numbers have been up over the last few games, but he is still giving up a lot of hits and earned runs. I may be flip-flopping here, but what the heck, I’m going to hop back on the bandwagon for one last joy ride. He has a great matchup against the Phillies, a team that he picked up 8 K’s and a win against a couple of starts ago. Rating = 7
PHI – Ethan Martin may go on and have a great career, but I just don’t think tonight is his night. He is making his first career start on the road and it is against a very hot Braves team that has a ton of left handed power bats. The young righty should really struggle. Rating = 2
Batter Grind Down
ATL – Load up on these left hand bats. Heyward, Freeman, McCann, all of these guys are in play. I even think the Upton’s are both in play because they are likely going to come up to bat with plenty of runners in scoring position. I’m calling for 7+ runs from the Braves tonight.
PHI – Like I said, Medlen has been giving up a lot of runs and Domonic Brown, Chase Utley, and Darin Ruf all have hit HR’s against him.
