What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.0
- Favored Team – TEX -200
Pitcher Grind Down
TEX – I usually like to avoid taking pitchers in real hitter friendly parks like Rangers Ballpark. Alexi Ogando gets the start tonight but he rarely pitches deep into games and has very limited upside, even against this Brewers lineup. Rating = 4
MIL – Hmmmm let’s see, a +200 underdog on the road in a hitter’s ballpark against a very good offense. Not looking very good for Marco Estrada tonight. Rating = 2
Batter Grind Down
TEX – Estrada is ginving up an OPS of .859 to right hand bats this season, but I wouldn’t count out the lefties either. All rangers are in play tonight, especially the 1-6 batters in the lineup.
MIL – Could be a decent spot to mini-stack some Brewers tonight. Ogando hasn’t been anything spectacular and we all know runs are scored in Arlington. Maybe an Aoki, Segura, Gomez stack?

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – CIN -135
Pitcher Grind Down
CHI – Jeff Samardzija hasn’t been great since the All-Star break. He has a 4.91 ERA and only has 1 win in 5 starts. He struggles to get left hand bats out and that plays right into the Reds hand as 3 of their best 4 hitters are left handed. He’s not in a terrible position, but not a great one either. Rating = 5
CIN – Homer Bailey has really pitched well against the Cubs this season. He is 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA and has 16 K’s over 14 innings of work. Mat Latos got the best of the Cubs last night and their lineup just isn’t the same without Soriano. I think Bailey pitches well. Rating = 7
Batter Grind Down
CHI – Nate Schierholtz is the only guy with decent BvP numbers off of Bailey, but I don’t think this is a great spot for him. With so many games that are expected to be high scoring, don’t waste your time looking for batters here.
CIN – The Reds have three very good left hand bats to go up against Samardzija. For my money, I think they are a bit overpriced considering the matchup, but Votto is never a bad play against a righty.

CLE vs R | CLE BvP | MIN vs R | MIN BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – MIN -115
Pitcher Grind Down
MIN – Samuel Deduno has been spectacular at home this year and I’m surprised that he isn’t a bigger favorite. Deduno has posted a 2.45 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP in 5 home starts this year. He is coming off of one of his worst starts of the season, but it was against a tough Royals teams that has caught fire. I think Deduno bounces back tonight. Rating = 6
CLE – Zach McAllister draws a good matchup against the Twins, but he just isn’t that great of a pitcher. His 3.90 ERA and 1.40 WHIP are both very average and he hasn’t been as good on the road as he has at home. I just don’t see any reason to target him tonight. Rating = 4
Batter Grind Down
MIN – For you BvP fans out there, Josh Willingham is 4/4 with 2 HR’s against McAllister. I also like the matchup for Joe Mauer who crushes right hand pitching to a tune of a .316 average.
CLE – The Indians bats have gone cold, ice cold. Over their last 8 games, they are 1-7 with a .192 batting average. More reason to take a shot on Deduno tonight.

DET vs L | DET BvP | CHW vs R | CHW BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – DET -195
Pitcher Grind Down
DET – Detroit seems to be a monster favorite every single night. I guess it’s hard for them not to be with their pitching staff and their offense. Max Scherzer gets the nod tonight and he has been lights out all season. He has an incredible K rate of 9.96 per 9 innings and has owned the White Sox in their previous two meetings. If you are going to spend on your pitcher tonight, Scherzer is your guy. Rating = 9
CWS – Hecotr Santiago has really posted some good numbers this season. He has an ERA under 3.5 and ha been striking out batters with the best of them posting a K rate of 9.3 batters per 9 innings. If Miggy was out of the lineup, I would consider him, but unfortunately Miggy will be playing and Miggy could outscore the White Sox on his own. Rating = 4
Batter Grind Down
DET – Like I said, hard not to like Miggy tonight. He is batting an insane .424 against lefties this season and has homered in each of his last 4 games. If you can afford him, get him in there.
CWS – I stay away from teams that are facing one of the best pitcher’s in baseball. No need to waste your time researching them.

MIA vs L | MIA BvP | KCR vs R | KCR BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 6.5
- Favored Team – KC -137
Pitcher Grind Down
KC – You know things are going right for the Royals when Bruce Chen is a pretty decent favorite over Jose Fernandez. The Royals are on fire and Chen has been surprisingly good this year. He has a 1.79 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. I think he is definitely in play on multi-pitcher sites. Rating = 7
MIA – Jose Fernandez has a K rate close to 10 batters per 9 innings. Usually that’s enough to cover his points even if he gives up a couple of runs. The problem with Fernandez is twofold: the Royals don’t strike out often and he does not get consistent run support. Rating = 6
Batter Grind Down
KC/MIA – Expect this game to be very low scoring and full of strikeouts.
