MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Thursday, June 27
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
squirrelpatrol: Aaron Judge
headChopper: Bobby Witt
Dean78904: Aaron Judge
ebeimfohr: Juan Soto
Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
squirrelpatrol: Jack Flaherty – I love to write up “different” pitchers in this spot, but we only have 8 options on the board, and Flaherty projects more than a strikeout better than every other pitcher. For max-entering, there’s an argument to keep him out of some portion of your lineups in case of injury or an abnormal start, but Flaherty has a 33.3% K% this season and is facing an Angels team with the lowest implied run total on the slate. So he deserves to be rostered on more than 50% of lineups.
headChopper: Jack Flaherty – He’s been great this season. He’s struck out 33.3% of the batters he has faced and has a sparkling xFIP to go with it. And now he gets a matchup with the Angels, a team who we have been playing RHP against blindly for much of this season. On a small slate, this is a lock button for me.
Dean78904: Jack Flaherty – By any measure, Flaherty is the clear and obvious best pitcher on the slate. He has the highest K rate (33.3%) and SwStr% (14.2%) while rocking the lowest ERA (2.92) and SIERA (2.40). You can say pOWN%, baseball variance, yada yada yada, and fade him if you’d like. I’m just playing him on (likely) every lineup.
ebeimfohr: Jack Flaherty – Flaherty is a clear standout at pitcher, squaring off with one of the worst offenses in baseball, the Angels. Flaherty himself has been dominant this season in 14 starts with Detroit, with a 2.23 xFIP (!!) and 33.3% K rate versus just a 4% BB rate. He is why I’m looking to differentiate with my bats.
