Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: It’s a big slate, but I am finding myself reasonably narrowed down for both pitching and hitting. I also think that because we have multiple top offenses that look fairly obvious, the ownership has to get spread out between them, so I don’t think anything has to be faded based on pOWN% alone. In these instances, I like single-entry tournaments and large-field MME equally well, and I’ll be playing both. I am not going to overthink it at pitcher and will play Dylan Cease anywhere I can afford him. I also like Nathan Eovaldi a lot and will look for ways to spend up for both on DK. Where I can’t, Shane Drohan will be my first stop for a cheaper pitcher. I will lean to the Rockies ahead of the Royals in the Coors Field game and look to get over the field on Rockies and Tigers among the chalkier offenses.

ebeimfohr: On a very large slate like this, with some of the top-end pitching options we have and lack of appealing low-priced pitchers, I’m definitely going to be leaning into the pricier, chalkier pitching on both sites (e.g. Dylan Cease, Bryce Miller) and probably not getting too off the wall outside of Shane Drohan, who also won’t be particularly sneaky on DK. That means I’ll be looking to stacks and bats projecting for lower ownership and will likely be moving away from Coors Field (particularly the Royals) and the Tigers (who appear to be quite popular early in the day). Pivots like the Orioles, D-backs, and Mariners jump out in the early going, but I also want to see what opens up in our MLB DFS sims (SimLabs) later as MLB lineups roll in, considering I will be needing some high-upside, low-owned cheap bats with my pricey pitching.

boggslite: I’m playing single-entry tournaments. I have a very narrow pool of pitchers I’m interested in, with Dylan Cease leading the way and followed by Bryce Miller and Shane Drohan if I need some salary relief. I will be overweight on the Coors Field game, where two hittable pitchers and bad bullpens face off, and I also like the Tigers and Brewers.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I don’t see a scenario where Dylan Cease is not in my main lineup. On DK, I don’t really have a super-obvious pitcher to pair him with. I’ll likely go with one of Hunter Brown, Nathan Eovaldi, or Shane Drohan, depending on how much salary I have to work with. I don’t expect to run a traditional 5-3/4-4 lineup, as I like a handful of teams but don’t really love any that much more than the others. My main lineup will likely be some combination of Royals, Rockies, Tigers, and Brewers.
