What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

headChopper: I’m playing 1 lineup on each site, focusing on smaller fields with limited entries. I don’t think it’s tough to get different tonight. With 10 games on the slate, I’d be comfortable playing about 60% of the starting pitchers, which makes for a deep pool of solid arms. That likely limits the offenses, as none stand out as a clear-cut stack. I’ll probably cap stacks at 3 players and then round out builds with the 2 best pitchers I can fit within salary.

Dean78904: I focus mostly on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I’m hopeful the cheap Twins will go mostly ignored because Max Scherzer is still a big name. They will help me get to the Yankees, Tigers, and Royals, which hopefully will get me a little different. As for pitching, I’m just playing Tarik Skubal wherever I can. As for Jacob deGrom, I’ve put a lot of thought into it. On the plus side, the Angels are an elite strikeout matchup for RHP. The negative is that the oft-injured 37-year-old deGrom skipped his last start as a precautionary measure with “shoulder fatigue.” His velocity did not dip in recent games, so maybe this is just Texas trying to preserve his arm for the stretch run? He still has 2 years and $75,000,000 on his contract, so maybe Texas is thinking long term. That said, Texas still has an outside shot to make the playoffs (11.1% according to FanGraphs), so they likely still believe. Conclusion? IDK, but I just figured I’d share my deGrom stream of consciousness here.

ebeimfohr: The pitching on tonight’s slate is absolutely loaded, so that is driving the majority of my overall strategy. Even down to the very cheapest pitchers on DraftKings, the overall talent and projection is better than most slates. In turn, that means that there aren’t many awesome hitting spots to target, so I’ll be honing in on those top spots, even if they are a bit chalkier, while using my pitching to make my lineup’s projected ownership work well for smaller-field tournaments.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

headChopper: Cam Schlittler – There are plenty of strong arms on this slate, but none feel like must-plays, so I’d rather save salary with the Yankees’ starter.
