What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I’m playing one lineup on each site in single entry and smaller fields. With such a big slate, I don’t think hitting ownership will cluster too much. I’m already fading the semi-chalky Dodgers, which should give me a solid edge. There are several high-end arms to choose from, and I plan to pair one of them with a cheaper SP—there’s a wide range of viable mid-tier options today. Overall, it doesn’t feel like a slate where you need to force differentiation; it kind of happens naturally.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – On a slate loaded with elite pitching options, paying up at the position will be a priority for me. I plan to narrow down my pitching pool to Framber Valdez, Cristopher Sanchez, and Jacob deGrom while hoping the other pitchers keep their ownership in check. There are some decent cheaper options available, but I don’t think the risk is worth the reward tonight based on matchup, ballpark, and weather, so I will only go cheaper with a guy like Chase Burns if I have to. Seattle is my top stack to pay up for, but I will spread my exposure around and look for value stacks like Houston, Minnesota, and Texas to pay up for pitching.
ebeimfohr: This slate is exceptionally loaded at pitcher, which in turn means there are very few super-strong hitting spots to target. I’ll be looking to smaller-field tournaments with a very tight hitting pool that likely leans into some ownership, so I’ll be pivoting among the pitchers to the talented arms that fall a bit through the cracks.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
