MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, June 17

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

squirrelpatrol: Shohei Ohtani
headChopper: Freddie Freeman
ebeimfohr: Shohei Ohtani
eys819: Shohei Ohtani

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

squirrelpatrol: Jon Gray – Gray is having an excellent season, and he’s cheap enough to allow us to fit in some high-priced hitters. He has raised his K% to 24.3% this year, lowered his BB% to 7.3%, and he has a 2.17 ERA (2.67 FIP) across his first 13 games this year. The Mets have a 4.1 implied run total that is in the lower portion of the slate today and they are middle-of-the-pack 15th in wOBA and SLG% vs. RHP on the year.

headChopper: Paul Skenes – On both sites, he still has the 3rd-highest salary behind Max Fried and Jon Gray, even though he is probably better than both already. He gets a Reds offense away from their home bandbox and into a spacious PNC park. It is a lineup that doesn’t create fear, either. After that initial 4 innings and 84-pitch outing in his debut, he has gone 5+ innings and 93+ pitches in every outing since. He has the leash to go over 100 pitches, as he has shown twice already. He has as much upside as anyone on the slate and he has also secured as high of a floor as anyone else.

ebeimfohr: Yusei Kikuchi – If there’s a left-handed pitcher with any upside facing the Red Sox, it’s probably a safe bet that I’ll have him listed here. They have struck out a league-leading 28.7% of the time vs. LHP, with a lowly .124 ISO. The projected lineup is woeful against LHP, and Kikuchi has been outstanding this season with a 3.39 xFIP and 23.6% K rate.

eys819: Yusei Kikuchi – Kikuchi owns an above-average 23.6% strikeout rate and an excellent 5.9% walk rate. We get a slight discount in both salary and pOWN% by moving down from the top tier of pitching, and Kikuchi has elite upside in this matchup. The Red Sox have struck out at a league-leading 28.7% versus LH pitching this season, and they get a ballpark downgrade going on the road to Toronto.
