MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, May 6
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
squirrelpatrol: Shohei Ohtani
headChopper: Max Muncy
ebeimfohr: Shohei Ohtani
eys819: Shohei Ohtani
Who is your top overall hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
squirrelpatrol: Max Kepler – Kepler has one of the best home run props on the slate (+250), but he’s seeing minimal pOWN% because he’s facing a popular pitcher, Luis Castillo. Kepler has a .221 ISO and .353 wOBA against RHP since the start of last season and should be hitting cleanup for the Twins.
headChopper: Max Muncy – The Dodgers have the highest implied run total on the slate by a wide margin. Muncy probably won’t gather as much ownership as the other stars in this lineup. He is also significantly cheaper. Opposing pitcher Roddery Munoz is too inexperienced to have a good sample size on what type of splits he has, but we do know Muncy has great splits vs. RHP in a large sample. Over the last 500 at-bats versus RHP, his ISO is creeping towards that .300 mark.
ebeimfohr: Bobby Witt – It almost always comes down to some form of power, speed, and lower pOWN% with my top hitting options, and Witt has that in spades. He projects for far lower ownership than most of the other expensive and elite bats, but he has been as good as any hitter in the game, particularly with his .427 xwOBA vs. RHP.
eys819: Adolis Garcia – He has crushed LHP, with an elite .262 ISO and 15.7% barrel rate since the beginning of last season. The matchup against Alex Wood is outstanding, who owns a 6.32 ERA through 7 starts this season. Wood has allowed over 38% fly balls, 48% hard contact, and 7.8% barrels this season.
