MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, September 2nd
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
SquirrelPatrol: Giancarlo Stanton
headChopper: Juan Soto
ebeimfohr: Juan Soto
TheLuuch: Juan Soto
Who is your favorite hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
SquirrelPatrol: Giancarlo Stanton – It’s possible that the Yankees chalk does hit, just at a cheaper price than people are looking at with Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Stanton is $2,000+ cheaper than Judge on both FanDuel and DraftKings and has a .658 SLG% with 4 HRs over the past 14 days.
headChopper: Juan Soto – Jack Leiter is simply struggling right now. He’s certainly young enough to correct some of this and become a good MLB pitcher, but he’s not that guy at the moment. He could only get through 4 innings against the White Sox last outing, and each of his 4 starts has seen him surrender a 35%+ hard-hit rate. He has no clue how to get out left-handed hitters right now. The Yankees will score plenty of runs, and I’ll take the best left-handed hitter in their lineup here.

ebeimfohr: Jackson Merrill – Merrill is having an outstanding rookie season, particularly in the second half, and he draws a super intriguing matchup against an uncertain rookie. Ty Madden posted nearly an 8.00 ERA in Triple-A this year, while Merrill has a .393 xwOBA and .263 xISO this year against RHP for his 2024 season, and the Tigers bullpen is in the bottom half of the league.
TheLuuch: Jackson Merrill – If I’m avoiding the Yankees chalk, I’m going to likely target the Padres, and Merrill is probably my favorite bat. He’s affordable on both sites, and although Ty Maden survived in his first start against the White Sox, the Padres are a different animal to tame. Merrill is always a threat to steal a base, and he has been putting together some video-game numbers across the last 30 days vs. RHP – 46% fly-ball rate, 22% barrel rate, .382 ISO, and a .428 wOBA.
