MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, August 22

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

stlcardinals84: Jose Ramirez
Krayton: Jose Ramirez
TJ Zwarych: Jose Ramirez

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 25 entries in the large-field contests. This is a fun slate, and I am trying to prioritize Tarik Skubal as my SP1 where I can. However, I also plan to be significantly overweight on Dean Kremer as a cheaper option. The Rockies are my favorite stack given that they are playing at Coors Field against a hittable Tanner Bibee, while the Diamondbacks are another team that I like quite a bit.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and some 20-max contests on both sites. One of my bigger stances is being overweight on the Coors Field game. We typically see the Rockies come in with lower ownership than the visiting team, and I really like my builds in stacking both sides of that game, as both teams have elite matchups. The Dodgers and the Diamondbacks are a couple of other teams I want exposure to.

TJ Zwarych: My preference is 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I plan to be underweight on the chalky Tarik Skubal. While he’s by far the best pitcher on the board from a raw points perspective, I think he’ll have a tough time paying off that lofty price tag. Instead, I’ll use cheapies like Patrick Sandoval, Dean Kremer, and Christian Scott so I can load up on expensive bats.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
