MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, August 31

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: This is a really fun slate to multi-enter in large field GPP contests. There are so many different ways you can go with lineup builds. With a ton of bats to choose from, I don’t want to spend absolute top dollar on my pitchers, so I am intentionally going underweight on Zack Wheeler given his salary and tough matchup this evening. I will be overweight on cheaper options like Yusei Kikuchi and Edward Cabrera. This will free up more salary for me to spend on top tier stacks, while I also like the Brewers and Reds as sneakier options.

Krayton: I will be paying down at pitcher tonight with Edward Cabrera, Jose Quintana, and Mason Black standing out as the trio I want exposure to. With a Coors game on the slate, I want exposure to the top tier bats, and I will also be overweight on the Dodgers and a couple of sneakier teams like CIN and ARI. I love getting to the expensive bats tonight.

TJ Zwarych: Pitching is pretty gross, with all the top pitchers also in really tough matchups. I like Bryan Woo as my primary “spend up,” while I’ll mostly be focusing on the cheaper pitchers like Edward Cabrera, Jose Quintana, Mason Black, and maybe even a sprinkle of Joey Estes or Davis Martin in my 150 max setting.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
