What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 15 entries in the larger-field tournaments. I like taking stands on my stacks today, as I will be overweight on the Reds, Rays, and Orioles. We saw a 30-run outburst at Camden Yards last night, with the Orioles putting 22 on the board, and I like both offenses in that game again. I will be underweight on the Dodgers and Brewers as stacks. I expect my offensive exposure to be the spot where I get different the most, so I don’t mind taking some of the chalkier pitching options like Bryan Woo, Robbie Ray, and Chris Bassitt.
Krayton: I will be playing both single-entry and 20-entry max contests on both sites. I will have a pretty small pitching pool, with Robbie Ray, Chris Bassitt, and then a couple of cheaper options in Quinn Priester (great matchup against COL) and Kumar Rocker. I also will be narrowing my stacks to LAD, CIN, and BAL, keeping a more condensed stacks pool.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll play my typical 150 lineups in large-field GPPs. I plan to be underweight on Bryan Woo while taking shots on some cheaper options like Quinn Priester and Sandy Alcantara. The Orioles and Dodgers are my top stacks, but it’ll likely be a day where I keep a tight pitching pool and spread out my bats.
tcsmith031: I’ll play some single-entry and 20-max contests. I’ll hold my breath and take an underweight stance with the Brewers against Antonio Senzatela. He won’t miss any bats, but he does keep the ball on the ground, and most of Milwaukee’s better bats are ground-ball hitters. I’ll eat most of the pitching chalk with Robbie Ray, Bryan Woo, and Chris Bassitt, while I’m also likely to come in over the field on a cheap Quinn Priester thanks to his terrific matchup at home against the Rockies.

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
