What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing 15-20 entries in large-field tournaments. My player pool will be fairly narrow, as I see clear dividing lines on both sides of the ledger. I like Hunter Brown and Logan Webb as my top ace arms, and I will be underweight on Jacob deGrom given his recent dip in strikeouts. The Reds and Diamondbacks are my favorite stacks on DK, and I think we might get somewhat lower ownership than expected on these teams given that they have to finish Friday’s suspended game before today’s game. That means lineups likely won’t be released too far in advance of roster lock, though we should still have them in time.
Krayton: I like playing the single-entry and 20-entry max tournaments on the smaller slates like we have today. Gavin Williams, Logan Webb, Ranger Suarez (DK), and Ryan Weathers (DK) are the top pitchers I will be focusing on. Over on DK, I will be heavily invested in the ARI/CIN game, and then I also like getting more exposure to TEX while the field will be looking more to KCR for the cheaper value plays.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll play 150 lineups in large-field GPPs. I plan to keep as tight of a pitching pool as I can. Logan Webb and Ranger Suarez are my top options, while I’ll also mix in a touch of Taj Bradley, Hunter Brown, Jacob deGrom, and Gavin Williams. I’ll load up on the Arizona vs. Cincinnati game on DK, while on FD, I’ll avoid the chalky Phillies and spread out my stacks.
tcsmith031: As usual, I’ll play a mix of single-entry and 20-entry max. I have no issue with paying up for Logan Webb and Hunter Brown individually, but I like the way a double-cheap SP pairing comes together on DraftKings. Pairing Taj Bradley with one of Michael Wacha, Ranger Suarez, or Gavin Williams makes it easy to pay up for more expensive stacks like the Phillies and Diamondbacks, which is a solid way to flip the build, with much of the field likely to play an expensive ace with a cheap KCR or TEX stack for value.

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
