What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in large-field tournaments, and I am going to focus on some lower-owned stacks. Most of the ownership will flow to the top offenses like the Diamondbacks, Braves, and Dodgers. I really only like the Diamondbacks out of that group given the current salaries. The Braves and Dodgers are a little too expensive to fit given the structure of pitching. The Royals, Cardinals, and Twins are some more affordable stacks that I will be overweight on instead.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-entry max contests on both sites. I am much more interested in getting the top-tier stacks such as ARI and LAD in my lineup first and then looking to narrow down pitching. Zac Gallen is a great choice, as he gets a matchup against the Rockies, but I will be playing more of Ronel Blanco, Tyler Mahle, and Noah Cameron (Cameron is at the minimum price on FanDuel).

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field contests. I’ll be taking an opposite approach than usual, trying to keep a narrow pool of stacks while mixing and matching different pitchers. I’ll go all-in on the Braves, Dodgers, Diamondbacks, and Giants. I’ll have as many different pitchers with those combinations as I can.

tcsmith031: I’ll play a mix of 20-max and single-entry. The pitching pool is shallow, so I’ll gladly eat the Zac Gallen chalk and cast a wider net with the SP2 spot on DraftKings. I’ll be underweight on the expensive Nick Pivetta in the interest of getting to more expensive stacks like ARI, ATL, and LAD. Instead, I’ll cycle through cheaper options like Landen Roupp, Ronel Blanco, Grant Holmes, and Lucas Giolito to pair with Gallen.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Epignosis
Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
