What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: This is a tough slate to gauge. I will be playing a smaller number of entries (likely around 10) in the large-field tournaments. I will stack the Yankees on about half of them in admittedly chalkier builds (where I will try to differentiate with some cheaper pitchers), and I will opt for some sneakier stacks like the Giants, Rangers, and Pirates in the others where I am using the more popular pitchers.

Krayton: This is a great slate for multi-entry GPPs, so I will be playing more lineups than I usually do, focusing on 20-entry max while still doing single-entry contests. I am hoping the field comes underweight on the Yankees since their prices are extremely high and since they only put up 2 runs in Coors Field yesterday. I want to be overweight on the Yankees and the Cubs and then find value plays from the Rangers, Reds, and the Orioles on DraftKings.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll play 150 lineups in large-field GPPs. I plan to go severely underweight on the chalky and expensive Yankees in Coors Field. It’s terrifying, and I’ll still play a lot of Aaron Judge and Paul Goldschmidt as one-offs, but I’ll be avoiding the full stack and focusing on the Cubs, Reds, Red Sox, Rangers, and Orioles.

tcsmith031: I like this slate for large-field, multi-entry GPPs. My plan initially is to bite the bullet and come in under the field on Yankee stacks. Kyle Freeland’s overall numbers leave plenty to be desired, but his ground-ball rate has ticked back up to a passable 47% this season. Freeland has allowed no more than 3 earned runs in 3 of his 4 starts this month, and the Yanks are expensive enough that you’ll need real ceiling games in order for the full stack to pay off.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
