MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, August 11
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I am going to use a very narrow pitching pool, with at most four options in my player pool. Dylan Cease and Nick Lodolo lap the field in terms of ceiling, and I will use plenty of both, with a sprinkling of Chris Bassitt and David Festa where I need some value. I will also be underweight on the Houston offense as a whole (outside of Yordan Alvarez). They have struggled against LHP this year, and while James Paxton is terrible, I see this team being too chalky for my liking on this slate.
Bobby Gomes: There are enough competent pitchers where I can use a variety of combinations on the cheap, all the way to Cease at the top. On FD, I will stack both sides of the Rockies/Braves game, and on DraftKings I’ll be in on the Red Sox/Astros game, the Orioles, the Rangers/Yankees game, and the Padres.

tcsmith031: I wouldn’t fight you if you wanted to keep your pitching pool incredibly narrow. I’m planning to cycle through the top 4-5 arms in primary builds with just a sprinkling of cheaper dart throws like Andrew Heaney and Albert Suarez in larger-field, multi-entry tournaments. This is a fairly small slate by Sunday standards, so we don’t need to go too far off the map.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll take some shots on gross cheap pitchers, with the chalk congregating big time on Dylan Cease and Chris Bassitt. While I still want a piece of Cease for his ceiling, I’ll also play some lineups with DL Hall, Albert Suarez, and David Festa.
