MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, August 16
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
stlcardinals84: Francisco Lindor
Krayton: Corbin Carroll
TJ Zwarych: Corbin Carroll
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20-25 entries in large-field tournaments. This might be one of the narrowest player pools I have used all year, as I just don’t like much today. I will be significantly overweight on Dylan Cease as my SP1, with Dean Kremer as my favorite cheap pitcher, and I will only use about 5-6 pitchers in total. The Twins, Padres, and Mets are my favorite stacks, and that might be the first time I’ve used that trio of teams as “top” stacks all season. This is a strange slate.
Krayton: I will be playing single-entry contests along with entries in some larger-field tournaments today. For pitcher, I will have a pretty narrow pool with Dylan Cease, Eury Perez, Christian Scott, Sean Burke (DK), and Dean Kremer (to save salary). I don’t see a lot of stacks that stand out, so I will be spreading out. The White Sox, Twins, and Diamondbacks are a few of my favorites. This is a slate where a lot of the implied run totals are pretty similar at the top.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be running 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I’ll keep a really tight pitching pool so that I can spread out my offenses, as no bats really stand out as great options today. I’m considering hitting the lock button on Dylan Cease while prioritizing the Mets and Twins as my top offenses.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
