What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in large-field tournaments, and I know my lineups are going to look different from the masses. There are a ton of expensive pitchers we can target, and while I certainly like using some of them, I also like being overweight on Eury Perez as a more affordable option. I also plan to be underweight on the Reds as a stack; they will carry plenty of ownership since they are facing the Rockies. I plan to be overweight on offenses like the Yankees and Red Sox as pivots.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field contests, and I plan to spend up for pitching as much as possible. There are no stacks that really stand out, as Cincinnati is in the best spot, but they’re also projecting for a ton of ownership. I’ll mix and match my stacks, and I have no issue going cheap with my bats so I can spend up at pitcher.
tcsmith031: Without any obvious stacks jumping off the board, I agree that paying up for pitching looks like the way to go. Logan Gilbert, Hunter Brown, and Freddy Peralta all look like they’re worth prioritizing, while Jack Flaherty and Eury Perez stand out as solid cheaper SP2s on DK. I generally won’t play many lineups without a 5-man main stack on slates this large, but I do think sprinkling in some more unique stack types is viable on a slate without much clear-cut high-end offense. 4-4s and 4-3-1s look solid today on DK.

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
