What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing 10-15 entries in the larger-field GPP contests. I am taking a clear stand on Zack Wheeler as my SP1 and will make sure to be overweight even if he is the most popular option. I am also going to make sure I am overweight on the Dodgers as my favorite stack, and I don’t expect them to carry the same level of ownership as the Orioles (who are facing the Rockies).
Krayton: I will be playing my usual single-entry contests as well as 20-max contests on both sites. I will be very overweight on the Dodgers, as they get a great matchup, and the prices on their players have come down quite a bit outside of Shohei Ohtani. Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts are in the low $3,000 range on FD, which is way too cheap for their upside. For pitching, my favorites at the top are Zack Wheeler and Paul Skenes, and I like the spot for Eury Perez, especially on DK at just $8,000. I also don’t mind getting to Joey Cantillo and J.T. Ginn when looking to get more of the expensive bats in.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs, and I plan to keep as tight of a pitching pool as possible. Zack Wheeler is certainly my top option, but I’ll also mix in some Paul Skenes, Carlos Rodon, and my favorite cheap option, Zac Gallen.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
