What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 10 entries in the larger-field tournaments. This isn’t necessarily a “bad” slate, but it’s a difficult one. The best pitchers have weather concerns, and the options for bats are quite spread out. I am going to narrow down my pitching pool while keeping a close eye on the weather in Pittsburgh. If the game is clear for pitchers, I plan to be overweight on both Paul Skenes and Cristopher Sanchez. For bats, I plan to be the most overweight on the Twins lefties against Bowden Francis and his extreme splits, while I will also prioritize stacks of the Diamondbacks and Royals.
Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-entry max contests on both sites. If the weather holds up in Pittsburgh, Paul Skenes and Cristopher Sanchez will be pitchers I will be overweight on. Tanner Bibee and Brandon Walter round out my pitching pool to save money. I will be taking an overweight stance on the ARI/CIN game once again, with CIN being one of my favorite sneakier stacks against Zac Gallen.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll play 150 entries in large-field GPPs. As long as weather allows, I plan to keep a really tight pitching pool, hitting the lock button on Paul Skenes. I’ll be underweight on Zac Gallen, Tanner Bibee, and Jack Flaherty, and I’ll mix in Cristopher Sanchez and Brandon Walter instead.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
