What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in the large-field tournaments. This is a really tough slate to peg what the field is going to do, and I expect ownership to generally be spread out. As such, I am focusing on just playing what I think the best plays are as opposed to an using an intentional strategy to set myself apart. I will very much be overweight on Chris Sale and Pablo Lopez at pitcher. Washington and Atlanta are my favorite stacks.
Krayton: I will be playing 20-entry contests on both sites. Chris Sale is a pitcher I will be locking in; he has a great matchup against PIT. I will be focused on ATL and WAS as top stacks. However, I like some of the lower-owned stacks such as CIN and even TEX as a sneaky value stack.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 20 lineups in large-field GPPs. I’ll go all-in on Chris Sale against a lowly Pirates lineup, and then I’ll take some cheap shots on projected low-owned options like Sean Burke, Drew Rasmussen, and Reese Olson. My favorite stacks are the Astros and Nationals, but a more expensive team like the Braves is pretty easy to reach on a slate where pitching isn’t very expensive.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
