MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, May 12
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I am going to roll with a very narrow pitching pool today with Zack Wheeler being my favorite option by a wide margin. You simply can’t beat his combination of safety and upside with his high pitch count and matchup against a feeble Marlins offense. I also plan to be overweight quite a bit on the Minnesota bats, as I have zero faith in Alek Manoah at this stage.
Krayton: Normally, I have been paying down at pitcher, but there isn’t a ton that I like as cheaper options outside of Bryse Wilson on DK, who I think is a fine SP2. I will have a narrow pitching pool, and I will be spending up with Zack Wheeler, but I will also be playing a couple of mid-tier pitchers, especially on FD where I want to be overweight on the Coors game. The couple of mid-tier pitchers I like are Bailey Ober and MacKenzie Gore. Ober gets a Toronto lineup that has absolutely struggled with power to start the year (team ISO of .125). Daulton Varsho is the only batter with an ISO above .200. On FD, I am looking to be overweight on the Coors game, which has largely disappointed the last couple of nights.
tcsmith031: I don’t do this often, but I don’t hate the idea of hitting the X button on the Guardians today. They’re projected to pull ownership on both sites in a favorable matchup against Mike Soroka, but this is a largely punchless offense that arguably shouldn’t ever be chalk. Soroka is probably terrible, but we’re talking about a lineup with a collective .144 ISO against right-handed pitching dating back to the beginning of 2023. I’ll take my chances with more talented stacks projected to be less owned relative to Cleveland.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll keep a tight pitching pool, and although it feels disgusting, I’ll be taking some shots on Alek Manoah in GPPs due to the Twins’ high ownership. Zack Wheeler will be my top option, with Mackenzie Gore, Luis Gil, and Bryse Wilson as my top SP2s alongside Manoah.
