MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, June 13
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
squirrelpatrol: Shohei Ohtani
headChopper: Francisco Lindor
Dean78904: Shohei Ohtani
ebeimfohr: Shohei Ohtani
Who is your top overall hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
squirrelpatrol: David Hamilton – This isn’t the name I thought I would pick here, but Hamilton’s numbers this season are too good to be ignored. He is affordable, usually sees low ownership, and has been one of the best fantasy performers in baseball over the past month. Hamilton’s .415 wOBA ranks 10th in all of baseball over the past 30 days, his .585 SLG% ranks 15th over the same time frame, and he’s tacked on 9 SBs as well.
headChopper: Francisco Lindor – Roddery Munoz is not good. His xERA is 7.30 this season — he’s always had control issues, and this season, it’s 5 walks per 9 innings, which is in line with his minor league numbers. Lindor is hitting nice form right now. He actually has a weak .315 wOBA this year, but his xwOBA is .361, which is hovering around his career mark (.344 wOBA, .346 xwOBA). That shows he’s gotten a bit unlucky with batted balls this season.
Dean78904: Pete Alonso – Alonso has been a frustrating roster at times this season, but Roddery Munoz has been beaten up in a small sample in the majors and has pretty ugly minor numbers (5.49 ERA, 41 IP, 31 K, 18 BB) so its safe to say he was only promoted due to injury and not performance. The Polar Bear’s statcast data is down a little in some spots, but he is still barrelling the ball (87th percentile), and I just believe is his long-term talent more than the nonsense we’ve seen from Munoz. The Mets are one of my favorite stacks on the board with Alonso being a key target for me.
ebeimfohr: Royce Lewis – Lewis has been like Thanos this season in his small sample of games — he’s inevitable. The former #1 overall pick has 5 HRs in 9 games, but he was also elite during his time with the Twins down the stretch of last season. Given his low pOWN%, I’m more than happy to keep playing the hottest hitter in baseball (not named Aaron Judge) against Luis Medina and his .378 xwOBA allowed to righties.
