MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 7

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Aaron Judge
headChopper: Yordan Alvarez
stevietpfl: Isaac Paredes
Dean78904: Yordan Alvarez

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I strongly prefer smaller-field tournaments on this slate. There is such a silly amount of great pitching that I don’t want to have to try and hit just the right combo in large-field contests. I also have a very small pool of offenses that I’m willing to play, and with how popular Houston should be, it’s easy to get different, and you won’t need to catch the way-off-the-radar outlier offenses. I will be happily stunned if the Yankees don’t end up being popular by the time we get to lock, but I’ll play them ahead of the Astros regardless of ownership. While it’s scary, I’m going to be underweight on all the pitchers above $9,000 on DK and $10,000 on FD.

headChopper: I am playing a single lineup in mostly smaller-field GPPs with limited entries, with a small sprinkle in large-field stuff. In those smaller-field contests, I don’t need to go crazy at SP2, so I will play a high-projecting SP1, and my SP2 on DraftKings will be another pitcher that projects well and seems safe but might come in at a bit lower pOWN% than Tarik Skubal or Garrett Crochet. On FanDuel, it will be one of the highest-projected pitchers – not sure which one yet, but a guy like Skubal, Cam Schlittler, or Cristopher Sanchez. I don’t see myself playing a full 4- or 5-man Houston stack, so just a 2- or 3-man stack from that team, probably something like a 3-2-2 stack with Atlanta mixed in there somewhere.

stevietpfl: I will build 3 to 5 lineups in small-field tournaments. We have great pitching mixed with some pitchers to pick on. It’s a great slate, but I think it has a wide range of outcomes. I’m going to narrow down my pitching pool on both sites. I’d rather find a couple of cheap bats than play any of the cheaper pitching options. On DraftKings, I won’t be under Sandy Alcantara, and on FanDuel, I’ll be focusing on Tarik Skubal, Cristopher Sanchez, and Cam Schlittler. Lower-pOWN% offenses I like: Seattle and Detroit.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests, as I only make a few lineups. There is a big opportunity cost with pitching, as we’re loaded with studs. On FD, I’m not messing around and will make sure to get one of the big arms. On DK, it could get a little tricky with the salary cap to go double-barrel stud pitchers, but I can’t see making a lineup without at least one of Tarik Skubal, Jacob Misiorowski, Cristopher Sanchez, or Cam Schlittler. My big stand on offense right now is prioritizing Yankees over Astros. When it comes to single-entry contests, the chalk tends to rise, leading to what should be a lot of Astros. I get it, and I’ll possibly have some, but I don’t plan on coming close to fully stacking the Astros in my main lineup.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
