Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I will play both single-entry and MME contests, where I can focus on my top couple of offenses in smaller-field tournaments and spread out a bit more in MME. In single entry, I’m going to fade Coors Field bats since I like the Dodgers and Yankees just as much, and we should get a useful ownership discount. The Braves and Rangers are also high on my list, and I’ll look to get over the field on them as well. Because I’m spreading out with bats and going underweight on Tampa, I feel less need to get sneaky at pitcher. If salary allows me to play Tarik Skubal, great, but I will mostly just eat the MacKenzie Gore chalk, mix in some Logan Henderson on FD, and mix in a few cheaper darts on DK (e.g. Jared Jones, Patrick Sandoval).

headChopper: I am playing small-field tournaments, mainly with one lineup. It’s still early and things can change later based on the lineups, but at this price tag for MacKenzie Gore, he is the first pitcher I am putting into my DraftKings lineup. FanDuel is a bit different because you only get one pitcher and have to be right, but his salary over there jumps off the page as a value as well. From there, I’ll probably go cheaper at SP2 on DraftKings because I want more Rays bats. When it comes to deciding on that cheaper SP2, I wait for the MLB lineups to be posted and see if any offenses look weaker than normal. Hitting is pretty straightforward for me tonight: jam in as many Rays as I can and then fill the remaining spots with cheap values.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments. Tarik Skubal is the clear-cut top pitching option for me. On DraftKings, I don’t think I’ll play much Logan Henderson at his price, but I do like him at his FanDuel price. I like MacKenzie Gore on both sites at his price as well. I don’t think I’ll have much exposure to pitchers outside of those three guys on FanDuel. On DraftKings, I’ll mix in some Ryan Weathers and Emerson Hancock. Hitting on this slate is straightforward for me. I’m going to be underweight on Coors Field and overweight on the Dodgers, Braves, Yankees, Twins, and Rangers. I want to focus my builds around main stacks that have secondary stacks with 2-4 pieces.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. My pitching pool will likely be limited to Tarik Skubal, MacKenzie Gore, Logan Henderson, and Jared Jones. I really want Skubal, but I don’t expect to 100% lock him in, as I’m willing to move off him if I build a powerful enough offense. Speaking of offense/bats, I expect to prioritize Dodgers and Yankees over Coors Field in tournaments. Beyond the Dodgers and Yankees, the Twins and Braves are next up.
