Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I prefer large-field tournaments on a slate where the only way to get different in single-entry contests is by fading the Coors Field game, which I don’t want to do. I am going to look to get well over the field on both the Nationals and Rockies in MME but then be willing to fade them in my smaller-field builds, where the ownership could get a little out of hand. While I’ll play Chase Burns if I have the salary, for the most part, I plan to avoid all pitchers over $8,000 on both sites and just throw a bunch of random cheap darts, starting with Luis Castillo. Unless we get a ceiling game from Burns, I just don’t think it’s going to take much from the pitcher spot to win tonight, so I’d rather spend my salary on bats.

headChopper: I am playing small-field tournaments with one hand-built lineup on each site. On DraftKings, I am eyeing Chase Burns as the SP1 and then will wait for MLB lineups to start dropping to see if there are any weak spots that pop up that I can attack so I can get a cheaper SP2. There is also a chance I go double-cheap on DraftKings if I see two matchups that look great after the lineups come out. Burns will more than likely be my preferred play on FanDuel as well. Finding hitters on slates of this size just comes down to stacking as much as you can and hoping to land on the team that scores 8 or more runs with power. With this many teams in action, odds are that someone will explode offensively.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on 3-5 lineups in small-field tournaments. On FanDuel, I find it easier to fit Chase Burns with top bats, so I’m going to prioritize him. On DraftKings, I find it tougher to prioritize Burns. I’ll play him as much as I can, but I find myself wanting to pay up for bats in Coors over Burns. I’m going to let other people be underweight on Coors, and I’m going to stack that game as much as possible. I do like the White Sox and Braves as well.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I don’t want to talk about yesterday’s slate, as all we care about is today in DFS, but yesterday I made the decision to prioritize premium arms over bats. Today, I expect to flip that strategy, as we just don’t have the same upside SPs to choose from, and this WSH/COL game, with a whopping 13 total, feels much tougher to fade. Prioritizing Coors Field means I likely won’t be able to get much Chase Burns. I’ll very likely (begrudgingly) have Luis Castillo in my main lineup. On DK, I’d love to pair him with Burns, but I just don’t expect to have the salary to make that work. There is no clear and obvious alternative, with Framber Valdez, Tatsuya Imai, Kyle Bradish, and Kevin Gausman being my “favorite” options to pair with Castillo. Beyond Coors Field, I’ll next look to the Yankees, Diamondbacks, Giants, and Royals for offense.
