How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: The pitching is a weird, tangled mess, and it is confounding me enough that I’m just going close to all in on Hunter Brown, especially on DK. There are too many options in the ‘play a bit of everybody’ scenario, so I prefer to just play the one guy I feel best about and then spread out around him. There is also a huge tangle of viable offenses, with too many that feel dart-throwy compared to my top tier. For that reason, I will just be heavily focused on the Dodgers, Royals, Astros, Rangers, and Braves. The chalk is in that group, but it’s a big enough group that ownership has to get spread around.
squirrelpatrol: I’m not going to look to get under the field on Hunter Brown, who is inexplicably still priced in the mid-range for a matchup against the Rockies, but I’ll also get exposure to other pitchers in the mid-range, like MacKenzie Gore and Brandon Pfaadt, while spending up on hitting. The Dodgers are in an excellent spot, and I’ll roster them as stacks or one-offs, but I’ll also look to other stacks, like Boston and Atlanta, that have upside.
stevietpfl: For a 12-game slate, it seems like ownership is going to spread out among stacks and hitters. Outside of Hunter Brown, I expect pitching ownership to be spread out as well. This typically means it’s going to be a great tournament slate. I will be overweight on Brown, Hunter Greene, MacKenzie Gore, and Carson Whisenhunt (if he indeed starts). As much as I like the Dodgers against Chris Flexen, if Chris “Houdini” Flexen can limit the damage, then I could see teams like the Royals and Astros outscoring the Dodgers. The Royals are my favorite stack on this slate.
boggslite: This is a tough pitching slate, with only Hunter Brown standing out as an elite play with his attractive price. This will lead me to spread out my exposure to multiple offenses and fill in my SP2 with whomever fits well in the lineup. Fortunately, I expect the ownership to be spread out with the bats, which should mitigate the massive ownership that Hunter Brown will likely carry.
eys819: I will eat the Hunter Brown chalk, as he has been in great form and gets a great matchup. I will also be overweight on Hunter Greene, MacKenzie Gore, Bobby Miller, and Carson Whisenhunt (assuming he starts). My favorite stacks include the Dodgers, Royals, Astros, Ranger, and Brewers.
