MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, June 4
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
stlcardinals84: Elly De La Cruz
squirrelpatrol: Spencer Steer
stevietpfl: Spencer Steer
boggslite: Spencer Steer
eys819: Spencer Steer
Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
stlcardinals84: Shota Imanaga – We all knew that Imanaga wasn’t going to keep a sub-1.00 ERA forever. Negative regression finally hit him against the Brewers in his last start, but I have no concerns about him in the long run. I especially have no concerns with him tonight in a matchup against the league-worst White Sox, who have now lost 11 games in a row. Imanaga has great command and an above-average strikeout rate, both of which should be on full display against a feeble offense. We do need to keep an eye on our MLB Weather page for this game though, as Roth has given it an early “Yellow/Orange” designation.
squirrelpatrol: Spencer Arrighetti – Arrighetti has started to pitch significantly better after a rough start to his MLB career, with a 4.36 ERA and .324 wOBA allowed in his 6 May starts compared to a 10.97 ERA and .412 wOBA allowed in his first 3 MLB starts (in April). St. Louis ranks 6th in MLB in K% against RHP this season, and Houston is a solid -155 favorite at home, giving Arrighetti a good shot at picking up the win.
stevietpfl: Jack Flaherty – Flaherty has a 34% strikeout rate, 35.2% whiff rate, and 3.8% walk rate this season. He has a 2.53 xERA and a .257 xwOBA allowed, which are both top 6% in the league. Flaherty has a 42.6% whiff rate on his slider and 42% whiff rate on his knuckle-curve. His curveball has always been great, but the slider is getting the movement back from when he was dominant early in his career. He’s having a fantastic season, and I just want to play the talent even in this tough matchup against the Rangers. I fully believe that Flaherty is back and should be considered one of the best pitchers in baseball this season.
boggslite: George Kirby – A matchup against an overperforming Oakland team isn’t quite the slam dunk we expected opening the season, but Kirby is the right type of pitcher to target against them. He has the 3rd-best SIERA among pitchers on tonight’s slate, highlighted by the fact he simply doesn’t walk batters. If he’s able to navigate around a few heavy hitters at the top of the lineup, Kirby should have no problems mowing through the rest of a mediocre order en route to a solid points-per-dollar performance.
eys819: Jack Flaherty – He is putting together the best season of his career after struggling for a few seasons. He is all the way up to 34% strikeouts, and he is walking less than 4% of hitters. He has allowed just 31.5% hard hits and 4.3% barrels for the season. A matchup against the Rangers is not as imposing as it was expected to be, as they are a middle-of-the-pack offense rather than the elite offense many expected them to be this season.
