What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I lean a little more towards MME, as I can’t pinpoint the one or two offenses that I want to focus on. I am also playing the chalk pitchers, who tend to go higher owned in smaller-field contests. The pitching pricing seems to have overvalued early-season ERA, and it’s leaving me with a very narrow pitcher pool. While it’s going to be chalky, I just can’t ignore the salaries for Dylan Cease and Ben Brown, so I’ll be eating this chalk. I’m not sure ownership will be much of a thing with the bats, but the closest thing we have to chalk is probably the Dodgers and Cubs on the high end and then the Rangers on the cheaper side. If that looks like the case, I’ll lean more to the Braves and Mets at the top of my board.
headChopper: I like small-field GPPs with limited entries. I bubbled last night and lost everything with the Texas stack, but I’m going right back to it—whether or not Corey Seager is in the lineup. For pitching, I’ll be rolling with either Dylan Cease or Max Fried, paired with a cheaper option if I need the savings to make the rest of the build work.
stevietpfl: I will be focusing on smaller-field tournaments. We have a lot of pitching options but a lack of stacks. I tend to focus more on smaller-field tournaments when there is a lack of stacks I like. I like getting a little more creative with my stacks. I’ll have some 5-man stacks but will mix in some 3-3-2 types of stacks. My two favorite stacks are the Dodgers and Cubs, but they’re priced up on both sites, which is one of the reasons why I will get creative with my stacks.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I expect my pitching pool to be pretty simple, with Dylan Cease, Ben Brown, and Max Fried landing in most of my lineups. My secondary options are Kodai Senga, Spencer Schwellenbach, and Robbie Ray. I want to pick on Valente Bellozo and the Marlins with the Cubs, but I expect to be under the field on them due to salaries and subpar hitting conditions. The Dodgers are also expensive, but I’ll do my best to get over the field on them. Jordan Lawlar and Kike Hernandez are my favorite value pieces to make things work.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
