What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stevietpfl: The Dodgers are the top stack. With the pitching options we have, the Dodgers are going to command even more ownership on this slate. I’m going to focus on single-entry contests with the intention of fading the Dodgers. There is risk in this approach, but it should make my lineups different. I’m willing to take the risk in tournaments.
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 10 entries in the large field-tournaments, and I am going to intentionally be underweight on the Dodgers. There are cheap pitching options available on both sites, and there is going to be a massively chalky build which revolves around cheap pitchers and Dodgers stacks, especially given that this is a smaller slate. The contrarian build will be to either spend up at pitcher (I like Noah Cameron) or go for basically any stack that isn’t the Dodgers (I like the Angels and Braves). Combining both of those strategies will give you very different tournament builds than the masses will have.
TJ Zwarych: With no expensive pitchers on the slate, the Dodgers are likely to be mega chalk. While I certainly won’t be fading them in my 150 lineups for large-field GPPs, I plan to be significantly overweight on Hurston Waldrep, Noah Cameron, and J.T. Ginn and underweight on JP Sears and Yusei Kikuchi to get different.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
stevietpfl: Hurston Waldrep – Waldrep is one of the top pitching prospects in the Braves’ farm system.
