MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, August 5
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
stevietpfl: Kyle Schwarber (FD) / Fernando Tatis Jr. (DK)
Notorious: Fernando Tatis Jr.
TJ Zwarych: Ronald Acuna Jr.
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stevietpfl: I’m focusing on small-field tournaments. The slates are completely different on FanDuel and DraftKings. On FanDuel, we have playable stacks from the Reds, A’s, and Phillies, and they are my 3 favorite stacks over there. On DraftKings, stack options are limited, so I’ll be building more 3-3-2 lineups. I wouldn’t be surprised if none of these offenses score more than 10 runs. For pitching, I like Paul Skenes, Kyle Harrison, and Bryan Woo. The great thing is, they are on both sites.
Notorious: I like to play small-field tournaments. I’m going to take my chances with a fade of Paul Skenes. While his numbers this season are all tremendous, he draws one of the worst possible matchups. He has to pitch on the road against the Brewers, who are one of the best offenses in baseball against RHP. For my hitters, I’m looking to get as much exposure as possible to the Padres offense.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll just be limiting myself to one lineup for single-entry contests because, despite the decent size of the slate, there’s not much to like. I’ll likely eat the Paul Skenes chalk and then try to find an SP2 on DK with lower pOWN%. I like the idea of stacking against the newly-acquired Dean Kremer, so the Royals are going to be my priority stack.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
