How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
STLCardinals84: It’s going to be a risky strategy, but I am fading Jack Flaherty. I’ve seen enough of this guy over the years to know that when there’s smoke, there’s fire with his injury concerns. He said that he didn’t “bounce back” correctly from a poor start in San Diego two weeks ago, so his last turn through the rotation was skipped. He had several spells with the Cardinals where this turned into injury disaster. He’s going to be mega popular on a slate that is starved for mid-range and value pitching, and he has a great matchup, but I think there’s a problem here.
tcsmith031: I plan on running with a condensed pitcher pool and mixing it up with the bats today. I’ll eat the chalk with guys like Verlander, Clevinger, and Castillo (FD), while I don’t mind coming in under the field on some of the chalkier offenses like the Blue Jays, Phillies, and Dodgers. There are enough quality stacks flying under the radar this afternoon to get different enough, even with popular pitching combinations.
TJ Zwarych: Especially on the cheap side, there are pitchers projecting for high ownership whom I really don’t trust, particularly Mike Clevinger and Carlos Rodon. In my 150 lineups, I’ll go underweight on the chalky pitchers and get overweight on options like Yusei Kikuchi and Paul Blackburn.
TastefulTides: In GPPs I am going to make a stand and be overweight with Jack Flaherty. Despite his troubles against left-handed bats, he has been pretty close to elite against right-handed bats all season. If he can hold off Ryan McMahon and Nolan Jones, I think he should have strong success against this terrible offense. On FanDuel, he will be extremely low owned and is cheap enough where he will allow me to play the high-end stacks like TOR and LAD.
