CheeseIsGood, a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Monday! It’s a bit of an unusual Labor Day, as we have just a 5-game afternoon slate starting at 2:10 p.m. ET, followed by a 6-game evening slate at 5:40 p.m. ET. It looks like all the games on both slates are going to cooperate weather-wise, which hopefully means the weather will also be cooperating for smoking some ribs or whatever you are planning to enjoy your day!

Monday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
We have several good pitchers on this early slate, starting with a top-tier trio that appears to be out ahead of the pack.
TOP TIER PITCHING
Jack Flaherty at Diamondbacks – 31.1% K, 4.8% BB, 3.07 ERA, 2.88 SIERA
Freddy Peralta vs. Cardinals – 27.9% K, 9.1% BB, 3.70 ERA, 3.72 SIERA
Corbin Burnes vs. White Sox – 22.3% K, 6% BB, 3.23 ERA, 3.82 SIERA
Well, this is a super interesting top three. Jack Flaherty and Freddy Peralta are much higher strikeout pitchers than Corbin Burnes, with far better DFS skill sets. However, Burnes is still a good real-life pitcher, and more importantly, he’s at a discount and facing the White Sox.
The last few weeks have been rough for Corbin Burnes, allowing 21 ERs (28 total runs) over his last 5 starts and only topping 5 strikeouts once. He has had a tough run of opponents, but even going all the way back through all matchups, you have to go back to May 19th to find the last time he topped 7 strikeouts. Reaching even 20 DK points has been a rarity since the All-Star Break, and I’m only saying all this to keep the expectations in check. This matchup should be good enough to get him back to quality start range, and maybe he even gets a little of the old upside back. But officially…
