Million Dollar Musings, Part I - Pitchers: Tuesday, April 25

CheeseIsGood, a two-time winner of a $1,000,000 first-place prize in DFS, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Tuesday! We have a very interesting 9-game slate with a lot of options on both the pitching and hitting sides. Both sites have solid but not quite must-play pitchers in all different price ranges. The hitting side is equally spread out with a handful of high-end but expensive offenses in good but not quite ideal situations.
I’m going to get the pitcher side of things posted early here, and then I’ll be back in a couple hours with a look into some MLB DFS picks on the hitting side.
Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
I’ve used the DK pricing as a guideline to separate the pitchers into three tiers for tonight. There are a couple of noticeable pricing discrepancies on FD, which will be covered in the Cliff Notes.
TOP TIER QUARTET

Joe Ryan vs. Yankees – 25.8% K, 7.3% BB, 3.51 ERA, 3.83 SIERA
Justin Steele vs. Padres – 24.7% K, 9.6% BB, 2.88 ERA, 3.80 SIERA
Nestor Cortes at Twins – 26.1% K, 5.9% BB, 2.53 ERA, 3.56 SIERA
Blake Snell at Cubs – 30.9% K, 10.3% BB, 3.70 ERA, 3.44 SIERA
This is a very interesting little group here. You guys know by now that I love Joe Ryan. His 30.5% K%, 4.2% BB%, and 3.06 SIERA confirm the validity of that love. But he’s $10,500 on DK and $11,000 FD on a slate with a lot of good cheaper options. The matchup against the Yankees is really not that scary, and Ryan’s dominance against righties helps to improve it even further. He comes in as my favorite raw points and upside option on the slate, but he is nowhere near any sort of must-play.
