Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS picks

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the April 15, 2026 MLB DFS slate.

Happy Wednesday! We have a very challenging slate tonight, with a shortage of trustable pitching options and a ton of high-upside offense to sort through. We also have a sizeable difference between the sites. DK has an 8-game slate at the normal start time (7:05 PM ET), while FD starts earlier (6:40 PM ET) and is a 12-game slate.

Wednesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

Cease of the Blue Jays

The DK slate has two ace-level pitchers with strikeout ability in the 30% range, and then it quickly becomes a bunch of dart-throwing pitchers with risk and/or tougher matchups. FD adds a couple more options, but it’s still slim pickings after that.

TOP TIER PITCHING

The first start this season for Dylan Cease was an eye-opener, with 12 strikeouts on 90 pitches. Since then, he’s right back to looking like the same guy as ever, which is a pitcher with undeniable strikeout upside but also control and efficiency issues. He’s also in the realm of pitcher where matchup is not overly important, as it’s more of a him vs. himself situation. However, I can also say that the one thing I don’t like for Cease is when he faces a patient lineup. Even when he’s not walking everybody, he can pile up a lot of pitches per inning. This Brewers team has the highest walk rate in the league to open this season, and since the start of last season, 7 of the 9 batters in the projected lineup have walk rates of 8% or higher against RHP. Cease is exactly the kind of pitcher who I love to play any time he’s going to be low owned, but it never feels great when he’s chalky. With the lack of good pitching on this slate, he almost has to be highly owned, at least on DK. This is a really tough fade when there is so little to like behind him, and honestly, I don’t know what I’m going to do with this yet. Let’s move on and see what else we can find and then sort it out.
