MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Friday, April 18th

Opto% Stack

Baltimore Orioles vs. Andrew Abbott

The Orioles stand out as a solid MLB DFS stack today against Andrew Abbott, supported by a strong blend of projection metrics and lineup upside. They have the 3rd-best optimal stack rate, the 8th-best stack rating, and the 8th-best Value% in our projections, highlighting their ceiling and value potential.

Abbott, if similar to last season, allowed a .227 ISO with just a 19.7% strikeout rate, leaving him vulnerable to Baltimore’s right-handed power. Tyler O’Neill, with a 14% barrel rate and a .392 ISO against lefties since last year, headlines the stack, with Jordan Westburg also a priority. The presence of affordable bats like Ramon Laureano, Gary Sanchez, and Jorge Mateo makes it easy to build a lineup with significant upside.

The Orioles’ power potential at various price points and the ability to fit in value bats make them the top stack on the slate, especially with their implied run total at 5.33, signaling a strong run environment.

Value% Stack

Atlanta Braves vs. Chris Paddack

The Braves are an excellent MLB DFS stack today against Chris Paddack, ranking 6th in optimal stack rate and 4th in Value% according to our projections. With an implied run total of 4.33, they project as a solid option. Paddack is not a high-strikeout pitcher to lefties and doesn’t do much to limit right-handed power, making him a favorable target.

Matt Olson is the top priority, taking advantage of Paddack’s lower strikeout rate to left-handed hitters, followed by Austin Riley and Ozzie Albies. The Braves’ lineup also features several affordable bats, allowing for flexible roster construction and strong upside. Their combination of projection, value, and lineup depth makes them one of our favorite value stacks.
